About Carole Tunstall
Hi, we are Carole & Mark the owners of Lakestone Cottage in Windermere. We loved the Lake District and always look forward to our stays in our lovely cottage, enjoying cosy nights in with the log burner on. The property was totally renovated in October 2011, having new and modern appliances throughout. Windermere is a great place to visit and stay, enjoying the fantastic views, walks, shops and restaurants. Had a couple of days break, lovely clean cottage, bathroom was fantastic. Great base for walking around the lakes.
House is 15 min from windermere station walking, 10 minute from town centre. Bath tub is amazing and shower as well! Very comfortable beds and nice to have an washer/dryer combination and dishwasher
We had a lovely stay at the house, kids absolutely loved the three levels and had such a great time. Beds were so comfy and I’ve emailed the owner to ask where she got the pillows I loved them that much!! Better sleep there than I do my own house!!
Location is nice and quiet, a little far for my kids to walk into Bowness but they are quite young. Big hill to walk back up etc but they aren’t walkers!!
Communication is fab with the owners, absolutely lovely.
Would recommend 100%
Thank you for your lovely review and comments and we look forward to you staying with us again in the future. Enjoy your pillows 😀
Take care Carole
Great spot for Lakes. Only niggle was the high chair was not clean on arrival.
Hi Andrea, I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay and liked the property. Apologies about the high chair. I will have to mention it to our cleaner as we have never had any complaints and are disappointed to hear this. Take care Carole

The cottage is in a quiet location with on road parking available outside of the property -even on a Bank holiday weekend . This property has everything you need and more . Owners responded quickly to a query we had. Excellent in every respect -would highly recommend !
