About Mark Shelley
Hello, my name is Paula and my husband Mark and I started visiting St Ives in November 2008 and have returned every year since. St Ives and the Cornish coast have become very special to us and we decided to try and buy a little piece of it in Autumn 2012. We were delighted to take possession of Pelennor in February 2013 and spent the next six months carefully preparing it for our first guests.
Mark Shelley purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Mark Shelley chose Saint Ives
Pelennor is part of Porthminster Terrace, which has so many advantages, not least its proximity to one of the most beautiful beaches in England. We love the character of the apartment with its high ceilings and fabulous views to the front and back and the fact that you can enjoy all the convenience of being in St Ives at the same time as being able to escape from the hustle and bustle when you want to.
What makes this Apartment unique
One of the most obvious benefits is the view in both directions; towards the 'island' with the ancient St Nicholas Chapel perched on the hill top in one direction, and Carbis Bay and the distant horizon in the other. Our apartment is equipped and furnished to a very high standard, being brand-new in August 2013. Finally, to find a property in St Ives town with one parking space would have been a challenge - we have two!

St Ives Gem
We have spent numerous holidays in St Ives over the years, however this is the first time at this property. Can't praise it enough, from the contact with the owners, its location to the cleanliness of the property. Absolute gem that I would recommend to all.
Thank you to our guests for such a lovely review. Its great to receive such positive feedback.
Great place for relaxing stay
Very well maintained. Lots of room. Airy and bright .
Fantastic property - repeat visits
This was our 4th stay at this property. We stay annually with our 2 sons.
The property is siesta immaculately clean and very well equipped with all you need for a self catering stay. The property is very comfortable and cosy with lovely views both front and back. It’s actually a lot bigger than the photos can portray and is amble for a family.
Parking & location is fantastic - all st. ives has to offer within a short walk - easily done by our 6 year old.
Fantastic communication with owners through the booking process. We look forward to our next stay.
We loved nearly everything about this beautiful flat. It was comfortable and quiet, with well-appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Mark left complete directions for our convenience and recommendations for dining options available in town. We found Ace Cars taxi service to be prompt and friendly. We would definitely stay there again!
Thanks to our guest for her helpful comments. We would like to welcome you again to Pelennor
Fabulous place to stay xx
Wonderful place had all amenities done to a high standard , in a great location xxx would definitely stay again xx
Thanks to these guests for their lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
So close to the waterfront of St Ives with lofty viewpoint of Carbis Bay
The car parking space is adequate for a small car or two.
Both bathrooms have excellent showers. The lighting is good throughout, but the main bathroom over mirror light could be improved to assist those who apply makeup . Cooking utensils adequate but a pasta server would help. The front left burner of the gas top had to be lit using matches, it needs attention. All other fittings worked very well, especially the dishwasher. The beds very comfortable. This is an ideal place from which to do Day trips to points of interest in Cornwall as well as to enjoy St Ives.
Thank you for your review and kind comments. We thought we'd covered all bases in the kitchen! We'll provide a pasta server and will look into the other aspects soon. Just to be clear for future guests, there is adequate space for two family cars.
