Nice property in a good area.(with drawbacks)
The property was clean and spacious with nice things to visit, UK TV and comfortable living area.
Shame after a two day drive you are welcomed by a large basket with a bottle of water and two tea towels. Had to spend first morning shopping for cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and cleaning cloths etc as none provided.
It is not clear that the property is one of many overlooking each other.
The parking was OK once the lights were put on in the underground car park and the maze of doors is worked out (no signs which ones to use)
The shower and bath pressure was very very low.
For a property at this price disappointing that it has no internet.
Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate all feedback so we can ensure the best experience for all our guests. I'm so pleased to hear that you found Fuchsia clean and spacious.
We find most guests do a big shop when they arrive at the villa and purchase everything they need for their holiday. We usually provide a Welcome Pack including dishwasher tablets, washing machine capsules, and a bottle of wine. Basics like salt, pepper, oil, etc are always there in the property. I'm very sorry the Welcome Pack was missing on your arrival.
We ask guests, in the arrival information, to please inform us if anything isn't working properly (such as the water pressure) as soon as they can so we rectify any issues quickly and ensure a fantastic stay.
Thank you for the comments about the car park it's a great idea to have a sign showing which of the two doors lead up to the Domaine. For environmental reasons our car park lights are automatic, triggered when guests enter the car park so are not permanently on.
We're looking in to having broadband internet installed. In previous years we offered a mobile internet service to guests but due to it being very patchy in rural France, we removed this from the property and our list of facilities. As soon as we have broadband internet we'll include this as a service we offer.
Thanks again for your valuable feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed the villa and the local area, it certainly is a beautiful part of France!
Beautifully quiet accommodation and complex. Great location.
The property was fabulous, very quiet and in an ideal location. The walk into Brantome on a lovely sunny morning for the Friday market was enjoyable. We were here for a family wedding and this villa suited our needs. The restaurant opposite the complex is definitely worth a visit. Would certainly visit again.
A Very Enjoyable Experience
A lovely, clean and well appointed property with two areas to sit outside, one with a BBQ, and enjoy the outdoors. Two supermarkets in close proximity for anything you may need. We took advantage of the walk from the property into Brantome through the countryside - a lovely town. Lots to see and do around and about.
Beautiful house in an idyllic location
Arrived after a long drive to find an immaculate house and a bottle of wine waiting - perfect!
The house has everything you need (the coffee machine was an added bonus!), the location is beautiful & peaceful, and children can safely roam around to look for bugs & lizards.
There are 2 supermarkets located a very short distance away and the stunning town of Brantome is comfortable walk through the pretty countryside (or a shorter walk along the main road).
We will definitely be returning :-)
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Fuchsia and look forward to welcoming you back one day!
Fantastic holiday home in a great location
We had a great holiday staying in Villa Fuchsia. The location is lovely, quiet and relaxing but close enough for all the amenities of Brantome. The villa is very well equipped and provides everything you need for a great holiday. There was just the two of us but would have been plenty of room for a family to stay comfortably. All in all a great choice for a holiday to remember.
Brand new and immaculate with everything provided.
We will use this again
Within 20 minutes drive there is a beautiful lake beach at Grand Etang Saint-Estephe. It has a white sandy beach, lovely café bars, and beautiful walkways around the lake. You can fish, go boating, play tennis, go horse riding and ride a bike trail.
About 45 mins away is La Jemaye a little further than Riberac. This beautiful lake is set in the middle of a huge forest, and has its own beach, a children’s play area, picnic areas, several restaurants, and showers to clean up after a swim!
Coming from the UK and Europe, there are many flights that will bring you to within about an hour’s drive from Brantôme. The closest airports are Bergerac and Limoges; Bordeaux is about 1.45 hours away. The main airlines are British Airways, Ryan Air, Easy jet and Flybe.
Approx 500 miles from Calais or 350 from St Malo.
There is a TGV service into Angouleme which can link with the Eurostar.

Périgueux 25 km
Bergerac 75 km
Brantôme is one of the prettiest and most visited towns in the Dordogne. Spend some time exploring its cobblestone streets, magnificent abbey and riverside park. Enjoy some of the delicious gastronomy on offer and watch the river jousting on a summer's evening.
There are also plenty of things to do and see in the surrounding areas.
For the active, one of the most enjoyable things to do is to hire a canoe for an hour, two hours or a half-day and paddle around Brantôme, and/or upriver, or downriver to the pretty historic town of Bourdeilles. Another option is to canoe down past a glorious series of chateaux, about an hours drive from Brantôme. Or take a walk around the town, and see some of the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen.
You can glide over Brantôme and surroundings on an altiplane, or hire a bicycle in Brantôme itself (near Aldi) or for just over 10E a day in nearby St-Julien-de-Bourdeilles, just 5 minutes by car from Brantôme. Cycle the beautiful 'Voie Verts' in the region, a network of 'green routes'. The routes can only be used by pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders. All motorised vehicles are not allowed. The routes are therefore safe and ideal for use by families and those with young children. Route maps are available from the tourist office in Brantome.
No visit would be complete without visiting St-Jean-de-Côle, to enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants surrounding the huge Roman church that crowns this pretty village. Further away you can enjoy ancient Roman ruins in Perigueux, the capital of the Périgord, while Sarlat and nearby towns, situated in the Périgord Noir about an hour away, will enthral you with their beautiful chateaux, villages and fortified ruins.
No smoking or pets please.
