About Linda isobel logan
I am Scottish and decided 8 years ago to make this wonderful land my home. The light, the perfumes in the air, sea at your doorstep and sun!! The people are simple, hospitable and offer a taste of past times. The flavours of genuine food, normally home grown. This is a true holiday for the body and soul and I try to offer touristic, gastronomic and cultural itineraries for my guests to share this fabulous land.
Linda isobel logan purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Linda isobel logan chose Diso
I bought the villa because it was private but not secluded, near the sea, and full of all the typical fruit trees and an emormous walnut tree offering natural shade. When I open the french doors from the lounge and enter the garden it just makes me feel 'great'. But what is fabulous here is the locals, their kindness, their hospilatity, you ask directions and the next moment you are having coffee in their house!
What makes this Villa unique
The kitchen is my pride and joy offering all modern cons which one would not expect in a holiday home, but has a vegetable patch for our guests, immagine, getting up in the morning and helping yourself to a fig or eating tomatoes just freshly picked. Relaxing around the pool listening to your favorite music, or just nipping down to the local fish shop and throwing it onto the barbecue for lunch. A holiday full of emotion.

Beautiful, luxurious, very comfortable villa
We had the opportunity to stay at Linda’s Villa for 10 days. Our family consisted of six adults and one six month old child. We had so many delightful areas to gather, relax, eat, and enjoy. The gardens and pool were beautiful and well maintained. The furnishing inside the home looked like a page from Architectural Digest but felt as comfortable and familiar as living in our own home. Linda loves to cook so the kitchen is supplied with every culinary device as you can imagine as well as a several complete sets of dishes. Linda prepared a nine course, very delicious welcome dinner that she prepared that would have cost over 100 euro per person. She also brought supplies for our breakfast the next day. Most of all we felt we were very well cared for and received personal attention to fix a problem promptly if it occurred, or offer her advise based on her many year experience in Puglia for insightful activities and places to explore or eat. A highlight was a cooking lesson to prepare our own pasta, sauces, focaccia, fish and veal dishes, and a delicious dessert! This is a perfect place for families with any age children or group of friends who want to have a pleasurable stay in a beautiful part of Italy. Thank you Linda for a never to be forgotten time with our family!
what can I say I'm speachless and delighted at the same time. I am very happy that you enjoyed the cooking lesson, and I promise to send all the receipes I that I said I would. I believe that the fotos of the house do not do the situation justice but you managed to communicate all that I would have wanted people to feel staying at my villa. Thank you, thank you. And I hope to see you gain. Take care Linda
This property is an absolute gem and a real find. The villa has everything you need and the pool and garden is superb. In addition the amazing meal and welcome provided by Linda as well as her recommendations for restaurants meant that our stay was absolutely perfect. Cannot recommend more highly.
Wonderful holiday. Pictures don’t do justice to the villa and gardens. Highly recommended.
Fabulous villa - lovely decor, clean and well stocked. Welcome meal and wine on arrival was most appreciated after a long day of travelling. The pool was great and cleaned 3 times during our stay, inc the upkeep of the garden, which was a bonus. Linda was always ready to help out and organise transport and excursion bookings and was a brilliant ‘hostess’. We would recommend the boat trip to the caves and eating out in Tricase square. In summary, a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.
thank you for your wonderful review, I am so pleased you enjoyed your holiday.
And as we discussed hope to see you during this winter.
Take care girls
Wonderful time in this amazing villa in Puglia
We’ve just returned from an absolutely wonderful fortnight at Villa Magnolia with our two grown up sons.
This is definitely the best villa we’ve stayed in. It’s a beautiful place to relax and unwind. It ticked all the boxes for us.
Inside was luxurious yet very comfortable with everything we needed - washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, coffee machine and don’t forget the all important air con in every room!! There are two double bedrooms in the main house with a separate annex at the bottom of the garden (en suite with air con) that our oldest son loved - his own holiday house!!
Outside was even better! The pool is brilliant, big enough for the four of us to mess around (and swim!) and we loved that it was spotlessly clean. There is loads of space to relax on the sun beds round the pool, with a covered seating area to escape the sun. The garden was amazing, beautifully maintained yet very usable. The boys loved using the grassy area to throw their American football! There were even outside speakers although we didn’t have the right cable to connect our phones to the amp (a Y cable would be ideal)...
Dinner time here was fantastic. The kitchen was fully equipped with far more gadgets than you would expect in a holiday property. There were large dining tables inside and out, and it was lovely to relax and eat here as an alternative to dining out. The BBQ was fantastic as well, we made good use of that.
There are loads of great places to visit nearby, from busy towns on the coast to sleepy towns in the country, all with a very real and historic feel.
Best of all was the owner, Linda. She went out of her way to make our holiday special. She would do anything for us, but at the same time without being intrusive in any way. The welcome meal she made us was amazing, really delicious and enough to feed us the next day too!! She even made a second dish for our veggie son. She told us lots of places to go, and her local knowledge brought the place to life for us (who knew that’s why there are so many unfinished buildings in Puglia!?)
All in all I would recommend Villa Magnolia to anyone without hesitation.
Thank you Stuart, your review is the best I have ever had!!
I am delighted you enjoyed your holiday and liked my house.
I would love to have you back if you are ever in this part of the woods.
Take care to all,
Fantastic stay at Villa Magnolia!
We had a wonderful week at Villa Magnolia this past August. Linda went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ready with recommendations for things to do and where to eat. The villa was well equipped for anything we needed and quite comfortable for our group. Would definitely recommend Villa Magnolia for anyone looking to stay in Puglia. Mille grazie, Linda!
Hi, sorry for not replying earleir, but the site no-longer informs you if you receive a review and only saw it today. It is wonderful!! and I thank you dearly. Hope the rest of your stay in Italy went well and you got home safely. Take care Linda
The villa is on the land of Marittima under the municipality of Diso, but it is on the last piece of land and so therefore it is physically on the only road that joins the town of Andrano to the Marina of Andrano, on the coast that goes from Otranto to S. Maria di Leuca and in the middle of the natural park., considered to be the second most beautiful coast in Italy. ( the first one is Amalfitan coast.).
The villa is near Marina di Andrano 800 mt to the crystalline sea and the Grotta Verde ( green cave) famous for its green florescent water, 3 km to Castro, (Capri of the south) and 5 km to the spa and natural caves of S. Cesareo Terme. The golden beaches of Tricase ( 3km), Baia di Porto Miggiano (5 km) and It is also near all of the archeoligical sites. Otranto is only roughly 20 mins away. Its is also very near all the Baroque cities of Salento ( Lecce considered the Florence of the South), Gallipoli, Maglie, Otranto....
This is an area full artisans that make hand made ceramics, textiles, metalworks and paper mache statues. ( especially religious ones).
It is also an area with 0 risk of earthquakes.
The zone is full of masserias which are old agrifarms producing olive oil, mozzarellas, wine, vegetables , fruit etc. These territorial characteristics together with the coastal 'pool' rich in fish, offers, and is unique to the world, excellent local kitchens. If you think you can swim in the ocean pass by the fishshop and collect your freshly caught fish , some handpicked tomatoes mixed with some local herbs you can have a poor but excellent dinner.
There are many famous wineries, eg Duca Guarini, Castel di Salve, Menhir, who also won a prize in New York. ( He owns a restuarant near here and offers wine free of charge when you dine there).
The territory where the house is situated has only opened up to an elite tourism in the last 8 years, therefore offering a notevole and splendid opportity for pioneers!
The area is served with 2 main airports ( Bari and Brindisi) and 3 ports Brindisi ( Grecia, Albania, Croazia) and Otranto ( Grecia) , Port of Bari ( where all of the cruise ships stops). They have also just started doing a Bari New York direct flight .
It has a network for the local trains ( stopping in Castiglione 3 km from Andrano) and a superoute from Brindisi to Scorrano and one from Bari to Brindisi.
The territory particularily flat renders the area adapt ecobike tourism and walking holidays.
The villa’s position is such that those who pratice Yoga can do the ‘saluto al sole’ in the morning.
The villa is private but not isolated, offering the top of privacy but not far from the small villages Marittimi, Andrano, Diso ( famous fairy lights 1st may) and Tricase, where it is possible to easily find all types of shops, supermarkets, fish shops ( fresh fish caught daily), bread shops ( it most usual for us to only eat fresh daily bread), bakers, homemade cheeses and butchers ( who normally have their own animals ) . Nearly a complete bio-zone. Completely full of all amenities.
From Easter until San Martino (11th November when they open the new wine) where there are very many village fetes where it is easy to find people who dance the famous 'Pizzica' ( traditional historic dance, which won an oscar just recently).
The local temperature rarely goes below zero and the average climate is 300 days of sun with hot summers and very mild winters.
The garden is hidden behind the villa, with white pool, fruit trees, vegetable patch , secular pine tree offering shade to the dependence, and large walnut tree for shaded parking inside the villa. Completely enclosed by wall and surrounded by olive groves. The villa is in a strategic position, each day you can easily reach a different beach, choosing from the most beautiful or visit all places of interest in Salento.
