About Eirlys Williams
Hello, my name is Eirlys Williams. My husbands family have lived and farmed here at Maesyfelin for generations, we are the 7th here. We decided to convert Y Cartws about 12 years ago, it used to be a stable and cart-house. It has been a holiday cottage now for 11 years. I do all the job's that go with letting a holiday cottage, cleaning, advertising, paperwork, home cooking ect... We are fluent Welsh speakers, so we could give you a few lessons! Have very good knowledge of the area as we have both lived here all our lives. Also we are both always happy to help our guests with anything we possibly can.
Eirlys Williams purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Eirlys Williams chose Whitland
2006 is the year we converted the out building.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is in a very peaceful area. Hear the birdsong during the day, see the red kites fly above around the farm area. A walk down to our stream and woodland area is only 5 minutes. Hear the owls call in the evening and if it's a clear night it's the perfect place for star gazing with its dark sky. It is in the middle of the three counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, so there's ample choice of beautiful beaches whichever direction you decide to go. There is a shop and garage just a mile up the road. Our nearest small town is Narberth which has plenty of little boutique style shops, coffee shops, restaurants and much much more.

Perfect get away
Lovely hosts, great location exactly as advertised, couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be staying again.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It was lovely to meet you and your family. Hope Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion didn’t disappoint! If ever you decide to visit this beautiful part of Wales again it would be a pleasure to have stay at Y Cartws again.
Wonderful home away from home
Renting was a breeze. The property was delightful, with all the mod cons tucked into a warm and cozy home. The location was rural but an easy drive to activities. We loved the beautiful sites of the farm right outside the windows and their adorable dogs ready to greet us whenever we left. We would definitely rent this lovely property again!
Thank you very much for your kind words, glad that you felt comfortable in the cottage. We are very lucky with our location, it’s just a short drive away from lots of wonderful places.Hopefully Pembrokeshire didn’t disappoint and that your Welsh trip is going great.

A perfect peaceful retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location with a beautiful surroundings. Well located, everything seemed just half an hour away. Stunning night sky, never seen anything like it. The cottage itself was perfect, cosy, well equipped and felt like home. Eirlys and Paul were there if you needed them otherwise you just carry on as usual, a friendly welcome or bara brith and fresh eggs. Our children made new friends in Mai, Ben and Bella the farm dogs, for children that aren’t too keen or used to dogs they absolutely loved these friendly pups.
The surrounding town of Cardigan is amazing, the beaches of Mwnt and Poppit Sands are great beaches. Plenty of culture, history and wildlife nearby and amazing views just on the drive in to Cardigan. We all loved this place and would happily book again tomorrow. Thanks Simon, Aurore, Elora, Eliot and Aiden.
Thank you for staying with us at Y Cartws, it was a pleasure to have had you here, we are very lucky with our location, as you mentioned just half an our from a vast choice of beautiful beaches and very lucky to be in the middle of 3 great counties. As I told you we do take the stunning dark skies for granted. Lovely to hear you enjoyed your family Welsh holiday with us and we would welcome you back at any time. Thank you very much.
Eirlys, Paul and of course the 🐶 dogs!
Beautiful converted stone cottage with a large dining kitchen directly on the farm courtyard. The garden is not attached to the cottage but is a few metres away) which meant we had to accompany our dogs in the rain!)
Very clean, comfortable with extremely hospitable hosts.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure to have you stay here.
Lovely place to stay. Beautiful cosy property. Owners really nice people dogs very cheeky
It's a but remote until you get used to it, but that's it's charm. Great yo be on a working Sheep Farm.
Wonderful place for families and children
Thank you for staying with us at Y Cartws.
Relaxing getaway in fabulous family accommodation
Eirlys, Paul and their two sons were very kind and friendly hosts. Whilst we had some trouble finding the accommodation, Eirlys came to the rescue and there was no looking back. The barn, which has been converted into accommodation, is spacious and very well appointed. Apart from food and personal affects, everything that we needed was supplied. We particularly enjoyed the farm fresh eggs, milk and cake that was waiting for us when we arrived.
The farm, Y-Cartws, is in a central location in the south. It was easy to visit the highlights of the Pembrokshire region. Eirlys gave us some good recommendations and a walking guide book that helped us to decide on our daily adventures. Another highlight was a little tour of the farm that enabled my nearly one year old son to see sheep and chickens for the first time.
For those wishing to stay here, the easiest way to find it is to type "Y Cartws holiday cottage" into Google Maps, and it will direct you to the exact location.
Thank you for having us, Eirlys and family!
Thank you very much for your kind words, it was a pleasure to have you stay at Y Cartws whilst you had your mini break in Pembrokeshire. If ever you are planning another trip to the area it would be great to welcome you back. Hopefully the Pembrokeshire coast and Preseli Mountains provided you with all the fresh air you needed over the new year. Thanks once again from all the Williams’s
