A Real Coastal Retreat with two bedrooms, one ensuite and a family bathroom
About Ian Simmons
We are both retired and live in Derbyshire.
Ian Simmons purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Ian Simmons chose Morpeth
Having lived in the North East of England when we were first married we have continued holidaying in the area since we moved away. With more time available to us we found Lyme Cottage which we think of as an idyllic coastal retreat.
What makes this Cottage unique
We really enjoy the unspoilt natural beauty of the Northumberland Heritage coastline.

Very well equipped, warm and located cottage by the beach.
Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location
We have had the beautifully peaceful and quiet holiday that we were looking for. A lovely cottage in a stunning area. Even the weather was kind to us. Thank you

Great little break. Beautiful place to stay
Had wonderful time the cottage is beautiful with everything you need.
Nice walk to Alnmouth on the cycle track.
Only negative was there was lot of short hairs in the bath and the main bedroom radiator temperate gauge is loose so it took us a while to work out what temperature the radiator was on.
We would definitely stay again loved it.
Clean and really well equipped with everything we needed. It is beautifully decorated with high quality facilities. The property is in a quiet location and not within walking distance of any local amenities however there are plenty of shops a short drive away. There is a stunning beach within 5 minutes walk of the property. We took our 2 children (ages 4 and 7) and it was ideal. We would definitely recommend.
Great property in a beautiful location. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Excellent Cottage and location
Lyme Cottage was just as we hoped, a lovely base in a fantastic location. We loved the short walk down to the beach, which was great at low tide, and we also enjoyed walking into Warkworth and nearby Alnmouth. The cottage had everything we needed to relax at the end of the day and dry off as the weather was a little mixed!
The sandy beach of Killiecrankie is accessible via a private pathway from the cottage. It can be reached in less than 10 minutes.
Alnmouth Beach is about 3 miles away by road and like Killiecrankie is one of the many popular stretches of sand that form the Northumberland coastline, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Newcastle Airport is approximately 30 miles south of the property.
There is a railway station at Alnmouth which is 2.5 miles from the cottage.
A number of London to Edinburgh trains stop at Alnmouth as well as local services to and from Newcastle.
There is a regular bus service between Newcastle and Berwick with stops within half a mile of the property.
Warkworth 1 mile
Alnmouth 3 miles
Alnwick 5 miles
Amble 3 miles
Newcastle 30 miles
Alnmouth and Warkworth have small village stores and a number of pubs/restaurants. Alnwick is a market town with two supermarkets, a discount store and a number of banks. It also has a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and of course Alnwick Castle and Gardens.
There are four golf courses within 10 miles of the property
