Causeway Cottage
Causeway Cottage provided us with a comfortable accommodation in the lovely village of Cartmel. It is a tiny cottage but has most amenities. A problem with a light fixture and supplies was addressed quickly. Parking can be a problem. We eventually found a parking permit but having it obvious in the cottage on arrival would be helpful. We stayed in this cottage for 7 days and one small thin bath towel each for that time period was most inadequate.
We would also want those looking at this cottage to know it can be quite noisy on the weekend due to the pub next door and their patio behind the cottage. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem in cool weather when windows are not open.
Generally, it was good value for the money and we're so happy that we chose to stay in Cartmel.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Cartmel. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to enhance future guest's visits.
The pub is busy sometimes and the cottage overlooks the pub garden at the rear and we appreciate that this can be noisy when the rear window is open. Not much we can do about that - but it is worth noting when booking and we hope that we have fairly described the cottage's location in our advertising. The pub is particularly busy at races weekends and bank holidays and guests requiring a quiet stay should avoid those dates. We do get a lot of repeat bookings for the cottage and the pub is often quiet especially during the week - it is unusual for a guest to comment on it as you can see from other reviews.
We supply one bath and one hand towel per person, and for a 7 night stay this is probably not adequate - we have taken note and will advise future guests that there is a supply of fresh towels in the wardrobe if needed.
Parking is by visitor permit, we supply one which is with the visitor book. There is usually space along the road in front of the cottage, or along the road outside the pub or shop. The parking situation has changed recently in Cartmel with far more restrictions than there used to be which is unhelpful to those staying in the many holiday let cottages.
Pat
Cottage was great with new kitchen and bathroom.Had all we needed. Wonderful caretaking people.
Excellent location in Lake District and very central for sightseeing. Village had great coffee spots and wonderful pubs for meals. Fun shopping for gifts. Very friendly locals and store across the road had absolutely everything. Easy walk everywhere. We would love to come back.
Cosy cottage
We stayed in Cartmel to attend a wedding, the cottage was ideally located, weather was superb, the cottage catered for most of our needs..we would definitely recommend this property and ideally we would love another visit 😄
Lovely
Really enjoyed our stay here! Would definitely come back again! Only one very minor problem, the tv downstairs is broken so can’t be used! Other than that all was perfect!
Oh dear sorry about the TV I didn't know it was broken. I have replaced it with the bedroom TV temporarily and it will be replaced shortly with a new smart TV.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay - and hope to see you again soon.
All the best,
Pat
Small but did what was required
Cartmel great place for the short stay we had
Great location, lovely little house.
We had a lovely stay in Cartmel; the house is small, but perfect for a couple, and we also had our two labradors with us who were more than happy with the space down stairs. The facilities are great and location next to the pub very handy. The only downside is no outside space, but that is purely because we have dogs; however there is a village green 20 seconds walk which is useful. We would definitely come again and the owner was really helpful.
