About Tim Cook
Hi, I'm Tim and I have English and French nationality. I have been coming to Les Landes since I was about 10. My parents bought a cottage here in 1985 and we used to come 3 times a year. In 2000 my mother bought the next door house, much bigger, and I got involved in working on the properties and managed lettings for about 10 years. We stopped rentals in 2010 but are starting again. I moved here in 2014 with my family and we are enjoying the rural lifestyle, a big change from 6 years spent in London before coming here. I love this area as it really is the most peaceful region I know. Nowhere in England seems rural once you've been here. And in particular I love the house and gardens. There is so much character and so much space. Great for spending time with friends.
Tim Cook purchased this House in 2000
Why Tim Cook chose Sabres
Les Landes is best known for the pine forests and amazing beaches. Having been coming here for years there is so much I love about it but mainly the fact that it is genuinely rural and 100% stress free. We are situated in a small hamlet 5 km for the nearest village in the middle of the forest. The other houses in the hamlet are secondary residences and we own one other. So no neighbours. No traffic jams, no traffic lights, no trouble jumping into the car and nipping down to the local village to pick up some essentials! All very easy and you can live life at your own pace and do what you want, when you want. No crowds, unless you go to certain beaches, peak season. But I can direct you to beaches where there is no one even in July and August...
What makes this House unique
The house is about 1 hour's drive from Bordeaux airport and 40 minutes in from the coast. There is a village 5 km away with 2 bakers, grocers, petrol station, chemist, doctor, butcher... Most of the basics you need. The nearest supermarket is 17 km away. The house is great for 2 or 3 families. We have a huge amount of outdoor space, 4 hectares, and loads of stuff for children to do on site. When we have rented in the past, families would say they wouldn't move much because it is so relaxing here and there is loads for the children so everyone is happy. We have the pool, a trampoline, a film projector, a kids playhouse and slide, sand-pit, table-football, ping-pong, netball, basketball... For those who enjoy relaxing you can sit and watch the sheep and donkeys in the fields....

It couldn't have been better!
Fantastic house, garden, everything! We were there with 8 adults and 6 young children, and there was so much space for us all, and so much for us all to do right there. The house was beautiful, spacious but homely, well appointed and equipped, especially for young children (cot, high chair, stairgate, well-fenced off swimming pool), and with so many toys and games and fun things -- the drum kit got a lot of use! And the projector room was like being in a cinema! But the garden was the great thing, with so many swings, climbing frames/tree houses, trampoline, ping pong -- and again so much space. And the pool was brilliant. The first few days the weather was a bit chilly, but even then some of us went in. When it got hot later in the week, we were all in there! It was a bit of a slog getting to the beach, but once we were there, it was worth it! We all loved our week there. Thanks to Tim for making it all so perfect for all ages.
Beautiful house in lovely grounds.
Lovely house in picturesque grounds with all you could ever need for a most enjoyable vacation. The house itself is beautifully furnished and spacious and contains lots of extras that are the icing on the cake - not many holiday homes come complete with piano and drumkit! Outside the extensive grounds have a pool, table tennis table, badminton net and many more games that are sufficient to keep even the most active occupied for hours. All in all it was a truly superb place to stay.
We had a fantastic time at this wonderful property.
We were a family of ten - six adults, two teenagers and two children of 7 and 4. Everyone of us tremendously enjoyed our stay at Tim's fabulous home. The beautiful house is very well equipped and the surrounding garden, pool and land provided entertainment for us all. It is situated in a lovely unspoilt area of France well worth exploring. Tim was very helpful with suggestions for activities and sightseeing in the area. The big screen projector gave us great entertainment in the evenings with a good supply of DVDs to watch. We highly recommend this property. Our holiday exceeded all our expectations!
Prachtig ruim vakantiehuis
