Perfect for a big family exploration
This cottage was great for our family, with lots of children. A great cottage with lots of space with the added bonus of the woods, garden and fields. We used this as a base to explore the local area and headed up to Edinburgh too.
Thanks to Dorothy and Tony for their hospitality.
You're very welcome. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and would be pleased to see you back at any time.
4 mums 6 kids - fabulous from start to finish
Perfect accommodation for families. Felt spacious and comfortable. Brilliantly equipped to make your stay as easy as possible.
The kids particularly enjoyed chilling on the reclining sofas after a day at the beach.
Great location with everything within a 20 to 30 minute drive away.
Fabulous hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble.
I am so pleased you all enjoyed your stay. You are absolutely right - there's loads to do in north Northumberland and the borders.

We were 9 ranging from 72 to 4. Lots to explore nearby and a bit further. Owners were very helpful with ideas for excursions. A very relaxing holiday.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
Great place, great location, wonderful Hosts.
This was exactly what we are looking for. The property and surrounding area were ideal for our dogs and young children.
Would definitely recommend!!!
Thank you, Steve. I'm so pleased you all enjoyed it.
Dorothy and Tony were very welcoming and the house was excellent - loads of room, comfortable and very well laid out. A separate entrance, room and enclosed gardens for the dogs was bonus, which meant that muddy feet could be dealt with well away from the carpets, which is usually a worry!
In a really beautiful part of the country, with lots of beautiful scenery and wonderful places to visit - we particularly enjoyed Lindisfarne and Eyemouth.
We would definitely recommend this house - we had a great time.
Thank you for your kind review, Joyce. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.
Our favourite beach is just 20 minutes away by car and is quiet and stunningly beautiful. If you prefer a little bustle Seahouses is about 50 minutes by car and provides shops, pubs, places to eat and boat trips to the Farne Islands.
Newcastle and Edinburgh airports are about an hour's drive away.
We are on bus routes to Berwick and the Scottish Borders, but to explore the huge range of historical, cultural and natural amenities you really need a car.
Flodden Field Battle site is 10 minutes drive away and the County is dotted with castles ranging in size from the majesty of Ainwick to the ruins of Twizel a couple of miles away. Standing just below the castle, the old Twizel bridge is the finest single span medieval bridge in Britain. The Borders host a range of Festivals and events throughout the summer including some top Agricultural shows. The nearby Cheviots and the Lammermuir Hills offer wonderful walks and stunning scenery.
Cornhill on Tweed has a wonderful village shop with cafe and Coldstream - just across the border into Scotland - has a bank, large Co-op, excellent Chinese and Indian takeaways, fish and chip shop, petrol station and of course, the Guards Museum. The Collingwood Arms in Cornhill has a bar, a bistro and a restaurant specialising in locally sourced food.
