A beautifully renovated property enjoying all the mod cons of today's living
We are based in Suffolk, England and it took 3 years to renovate this unique property. The property has been finished to the highest standard since we intended to use the property just for our family but have now decided to offer it for rental income due to the substantial amount we spent on the renovation. Due to the high class renovation we have a vested interest in ensuring its well looked after and always in first class condition. We hope that everyone who visits gets the same relaxed feeling that our family members experience when they stay in the property .

Why Owner chose Pouzols-Minervois
We wanted a property that offered a totally authentic view of what we felt was the ‘real’ South of France. Unlike the manicured lawns of Nice and the designer labels in Provence or St Tropez this area of France offers an unpretentious way of life full of real people who are heavily committed to a simple life. This part of the South of France is amazing in it's diversity. The choice of things to do is amazing, from sunning yourself on the beach to white water rafting in the hills of the Pyrenees. With the whole area totally underpinned by the beautiful Canal du Midi this area offers a totally relaxing way of life that people refer to as ‘Midi Time’ where time stands still. With wine producers everywhere you turn, it’s a wine buff’s heaven with every local Cave happy to let you taste their produce with quality wine available at ridiculously low prices . There is no way that someone cannot fail to relax in this wonderful part of France.
What makes this House unique
Since this property was renovated purely for the use of the owners it enjoys unprecedented detailed workmanship. This property enjoys the same standard as if it was in the UK, and with the finish and amenities offered it could be lived in 365 days a year. No expense has been spared to ensure all the mod cons are incorporated. However, the most important aspect for the renovation was to not lose the French feel so a lot of work has been done to ensure the character of the building has been kept. Original tiles were found under modern tiles on the 1st floor bedrooms and by removing layers and layers of plaster stone alcoves and features were found and restored. Every single room has been stripped back to its bare fabric and the entire property has been re wired and re plumbed. 3 additional bathrooms were installed along with a new kitchen and massive woodburner in the lounge. The courtyard space was created from scratch with the invisible sliding patio doors installed to create the wonderful inside/outside space.

Well restored property in a quiet village. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen
Lovely peaceful house in quiet village on a hill with good views of surrounding countryside. Spatious with a bath and showers and a well equipped kitchen. Everything was well organised and communication with the owner was excellent. One small criticism - the TV is only set up to work with a tablet (iPad, I think) but the connector was for older iPad version, so if you have a newer version you will need to bring a suitable adaptor. As it was we had a lovely time and didn't need to watch television. We would recommend this place to others.
The Canal Du Midi is what makes this area of the Languedoc famous. It's a world heritage sight and there are cycle paths next to the canal that join the local villages with wine Caves and Cafe's en route. Carcassonne is a beautifully restored walled city and is also a world heritage sight. It's the 2nd most visited attraction after the Eifal tower. White water rafting or kayaking is available 45 min away. Barcelona is 3 hours by car or 2 hours by the TGV from Narbonne (25 min drive). Beaches of the Med are 45 minutes away and local lakes are 10 min away.
