Perfectly located for the National Park, Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water & the Borders, this delightful house boasts beautiful gardens, a private covered swimming pool, panoramic views across the Rede Valley and over 4 acres of private woodland.
The pretty sitting room, with beautiful beamed ceiling has a magnificent inglenook fireplace and interesting antiques sit alongside modern comforts such as satellite tv and WiFi. A cosy reading seat, overlooking the garden and views beyond is the perfect place to while away rainy days with the books and games on offer here.
The wonderful farmhouse-style kitchen is the perfect place to prepare home cooked meals and to entertain, with the warming oil fired Range oven at it’s heart. The pretty country cabinets are full of quirky and interesting kitchenware, alongside all the modern appliances you would expect including a dishwasher and fridge and freezer. Doors open out onto the garden.
A separate laundry area houses a washing machine.
There is a smart dining room, for more formal entertaining, with beautiful wood flooring and solid wood dining furniture seating 6.
On the first floor, the bedrooms all enjoy the prettiest of countryside views from all window aspects. There are two spacious double bedrooms – one with en-suite bathroom featuring twin sinks, bath and separate shower – and a twin bedroom, offering plenty of flexibility in sleeping arrangements. A lovely country-style family bathroom; perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day exploring, finishes off the first floor.
The large gardens; with stunning views over fields and valleys, are alive with sweet smelling fruits and an array of fresh, aromatic herbs which you are welcome to harvest and use in the country kitchen, depending on the time of year. Explore over 4 acres of magical, private woodland, spotting deer, red squirrel and rabbits and listen out for all manner of bird life – especially the call of the curlew, one of the most beautiful sounds of the English countryside. When you can tear yourself away from your gorgeous surroundings, take a well-earned dip in the private covered swimming pool (16m x 4m, depth 2.1m open June – September, unheated).
There is ample private parking at the property, along with a cycle store.
The cottage enjoys a natural spring water supply.
Two dogs are welcome at Greenchester’s for a small charge of £15 each per holiday. Additional dogs may be considered on request.
