About Linda and Keith Scowcroft
Chinley Moor House has been part of our family for a long time. Linda was born and grew up here, and we bought the house from Linda's parents after the birth of our first son, to bring up our own family in. Our two sons are now grown up and, since our retirement, we've turned our attention to making our home pay its way! We live here with our dog, Danny, and enjoy regular visits from our young grandson.
Linda and Keith Scowcroft purchased this Apartment in 1950

The studio flat in the peak district
The studio flat in the Peak District was ideal accommodation for our requirements and needs , Thank you for the starter breakfast and bottle of wine on our arrival ,We very much enjoyed our stay and hopefully return sometime in the not too distant future
Cosy and Comfortable Studio in stunning location
The studio apartment is beautifully fitted out, with plenty of little extras to make it all the more welcoming. It is perfectly cosy, but also brighter and more spacious than we could have imagined. The windows have the stunning views, without compromising privacy. The surrounding countryside is truly beautiful, and the nearby villages are lovely to visit.
Comfortable, cosy and nestled in a lovely area
We were very snug ,comfortable and warm in this little gem of a studio, where there was everything we needed, even a little hamper of provisions and some extra special thoughtful touches too, thank you Linda for all those, so kind. Situated in a lovely area, with walks from the door, several good pubs not far away and a wonderful view from our breakfast table window, all in all what more could we have asked for.
Great Access to Kinder Scout
Nice cozy little appartment, all you need for your stay. Great Access to Kinder Scout
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
We are very glad you enjoyed your stay.
A very romantic hideaway
Lots of thoughtful touches by the owner and clean and cosy. Perfect for walking Kinder Scout.
Thank you for taking the time to review our studio.
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay.
A return visit to the peak District was on my bucket and this lovely studio did not disappoint. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you need including some added extras such as a nice welcome food basket of bread , milk , biscuits , tea coffee etc and even treats for the dog . The audio was plenty big enough for the pair of us and our large dog . Comfy bed , good shower , well equipped kitchen and a breakfast bar with stunning views .you have a small enclosed garden with seating to enjoy a drink or meal in or watch the stunning sunsets over the hills.
Linda and keith were both very pleasant and helpful supplying home made cake , a BBQ and even oiling my squeaking car boot lid .
Set in a perfect location for exploring all of the peak District with for example castleton and ladybower reservoir within 15 minutes drive and Hayfield just down the road with plenty of walks available including kinder scout and the sett valley trail . And of course you don't need to drive anywhere as the Pennine bridleway and footpaths towards Edale and Kinder scouts were literally out of the back gate .
There were too many good pubs nearby to mention but the sportsman in Hayfield was a great place to celebrate getting up and down from kinder scout and the home cooked food was excellent .
If your looking for a great location to explore the peak District we would thoroughly recommend Hayfield view , we certainly intend retuning some time .
Thank you for writing such a comprehensive, informative and positive review about our studio.
I am sure the information will be helpful to other guests.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we enjoyed chatting to you both throughout the week.
Thank you again for taking the trouble. We really appreciate it.
We're situated close to the picturesque village of Hayfield with its cosy pubs, winding streets and scenic views - and with plenty of potential for walking, fell running, mountain biking, horse riding and rock climbing in the rolling hills and beautiful countryside right on our doorstep, we're in the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
The larger towns of Manchester and Sheffield are within easy reach, so you won't run out of things to see and do, even on rainy days.
If you're looking for beautiful scenery, historic homes, or delicious afternoon teas, nearby Lyme Park, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton, or Edale are ideal day trips, as is the lovely spa town of Buxton.
