This beautiful property is a stone built old blacksmiths shop, that has been lovingly converted and restored to a high standard, to provide a lovely self catering holiday accommodation.
The Old Smithy is situated in the village of Ednam, so provides a wonderful relaxing locations, were you can escape the rest of the world, yet only 2 miles away from Kelso (5 minutes drive) that has all the amenities you require.
The property is all on ground level with no stairs, and is therefore is ideal for those guests with mobility issues and prams
The level entry hall leads to a wonderful open plan sociable space in the Kitchen, Dining Area, were there is lots of room for everyone to gather around!.
The Old Smithy is warmed by central heating and an electric wood burner effect fire, so is comfortable and cosy all year round.
Cooks with enjoy the SMEG Stainless Steel Range Cooker with a double oven, backed up by the dishwasher!.
The light, bright sitting room offers more room to relax, perhaps by the glow of the wood burner effect fire and music. There are 2 sets of french doors leading off the lounge out to the wonderful garden area, were you can sit and enjoy the open views, and listen to the wild life and the sound of water from the Eden Water running at the end of the garden.
This property has 3 bedrooms, The main bedroom has a king size bed with ensuite, WC and vanity unit. The second bedroom has a double bed with bedside table, double wardrobe and 2 drawers. The third bedroom has 2 single beds, bedside table, 3 door wardrobe with shelving. There is also a sofa bed situated in the open plan lounge area so can sleep upto 8 guests.
All bed linen and towels are of a high standard a they are provided by a linen company that caters for hotels and holiday accommodation.
The Kitchen, dining area consists of a new fully fitted kitchen, large dining kitchen with farmhouse table and chairs (seats upto 8) dishwasher, SMEG range cooker, plenty of workspace, microwave, washing machine, dryer, American style fridge/freezer, ironing facilities.
The Lounge consist of 2 leather reclining sofas, sofa that converts into a bed, flat screen TV, DVD Player, Music Centre, Coffee Table (which contains various leaflets of places to visit), Sideboard (which contains, DVDs, Games, Books, Jigsaws to use during your stay).
The Old Smithy has river frontage and an open plan garden which runs up to the Eden Water River.
This property is ideal for guest with prams or guest with poor mobility as there are no stairs in the property, and there is a ramp outside.
The property is close to the River Tweed, famous for salmon fishing so is an ideal location for guest who wish to fish. The property is also close to The Borders Union Showground which holds various events during the year. Kelso golf course and racecourse are only 5 minutes drive away so ideal for the wishing to play golf or go to the famous kelso races.
The Old Smithy is set in a small quiet village with lovely countryside views. This is also the ideal location for those guest who love to go for countryside walks.
There is a bus stop situated across the road from The Old Smithy which takes you into Kelso (2 miles away) from Kelso you can get buses to various part of the borders

The cottage is situated 2 miles outside Kelso in the quaint hamlet of Ednam, and is an ideal location for those wanting to explore the Scottish Borders and Northumberland Coast. Kelso has lots to offer including golf (Roxburghe, Kelso & Coldstream golf courses. Fishing, horse riding, walking, floors Castle, Roxburgh Estate, Smokery & Watergardens, home of Sir Walter Scott There is also Kelso racecourse, Borders Union Showground and Ice skating and curling centre 2 miles away from the property.
