About Roy and Sandy Wright
My wife Sandy and I first visited the island in 2009. We instantly fell in love with it visiting an architect the same week. It took a further 2 years before we committed ourselves and bought our first property. Our daughter and her family too were enchanted with Zakynthos leading us to extend the property to accommodate all of us. Year on year we improved the in - and outside of the house. Due to illness our friend had to move back to England and we bought this our second property. Back in England we rent many properties and understand all about the requirements needed by our tenants and our tourists. We also understand the need of local support and are proud to say that we have a wonderful team in place able to help with most problems or questions.
Roy and Sandy Wright purchased this Bungalow in 2017
Why Roy and Sandy Wright chose Zakinthos
This property underwent total refurbishment, decoration and landscaping in August 2017 and it is looking it absolute best. The accommodation is very comfortable. The garden with its olive and fruit trees a place to relax. The large pool to take a refreshing dip on hot days. From your balcony you can enjoy 180 degrees view of the sea, with a fantastic sunrise in the morning.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The house is away from any resorts at the foot of hills behind, and the sea in the front. It is a peaceful working village with a local shop nearby. If however nightlife is your scene then Lagana is only a 15 minute car ride away mainly visited by youth who party into the early hours of the morning.

Lovely villa with great views
The villa's owners, Roy and Sandy really couldn't have been more helpful before our visit, and the escort from the airport was much appreciated as was the lovely welcome hamper and delicious cake. The villa is clean and modern and has everything needed for a short stay for 4 people. The views from the terrace are beautiful.
If you are looking for peace and quiet however, please pack ear-plugs! There are dogs in all the neighbouring properties, often wandering loose and barking throughout the day. Contrary to our expectations, the pool was not entirely private. The child(ren) from the neighbouring villa seemed to use it at their will - when we were out and even when we were in the pool area. That said, the island is lovely and this villa formed a good base to explore.
We are so sorry to hear that you have been bothered by our neighbours who have moved in in June. We have spoken to them about this and further are in the process of erecting a fence to stop this happening in the future. Despite this we hope that you had a good holiday and enjoyed our facilities.
Very best wishes
Roy and Sandy
Good standard in a pleasant hamlet
We are a family of four with kids aged 8 & 9. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of accommodation, which has clearly been done with an attention to detail sometimes lacking in holiday rentals. The setting of the accommodation is lovely with stunning views, surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees. The pool is true to the photos and a favourite with the kids. It should be noted that it cannot be seen from the main part of the accommodation as it is accessed down some steps, but it has ample seating around it. The accommodation has no internal lounge or dining area as this is on the terrace, providing the views of the sea. We would have preferred some means of shade on the terrace as in the morning it is in full sun and soon heats up. There are some local cottages around the property and we were very kindly given tomatoes and eggs by different residents who were extremely friendly. We loved the location of the property which is within a short drive of some great tavernas and beaches. We would definitely recommend this property.
Clean, tidy and compact villa with lovely pool in superb location
Having the living area outside is lovely in fine weather and so unusual. The views are stunning from the terrace and being able to bbq with that view ...............Everything you need is provided in the little kitchen but mostly we bbq'ed or ate out
The aircon in the bedrooms is great and not too noisy. The tv system outside took a bit of working out but Roy is quick to answer any questions and sort things out. At the end of the day we wanted to watch the world cup and normally wouldn't have bothered with tv.
It is a peaceful location, barring the obligatory neighbours dogs barking, but this is commonplace in Greece and you get used to it. The villa is in an idyllic spot and really handy for visiting other parts of the island. It is a pleasure to return each day and have a dip in the pool (which is very well maintained). The neighbours were very pleasant and although they were renovating their house, they were not intrusive.
Roy and Sandy have a wonderful villa in a great location
Best holiday we've ever had
From start to finish our experience was fantastic. Booking was easy with Roy and Sandy (the owners) responding very quickly to any questions we had. We received such a warm welcome when we arrived - Roy even came and met us as we got lost on the way to finding the property. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay. The property itself was pristine with two great bedrooms, a big bathroom and a small kitchen (just the right size to make breakfast and a few meals). We ate out most days.
But what makes this property so special is the breathtaking view. Waking up to that every morning and enjoying your breakfast on the balcony was so special. The pool was also brilliant and perfect for our boys aged 10 and 8. We loved being away in the hills from the throngs of people in the resorts. If you're a family who prefers a quieter holiday this is the property for you. It provides a perfect base to explore the island and you're never too far away from the hustle and bustle if you want to be. Best holiday we've ever had. Thanks Roy and Sandy. The Machins x

Further specific attraction and activities to enjoy are as follows.
Water park in Kalamaki a real hit with children. A visit to Banana beach is worth the trip with lots of water sports on offer. Look out for the boat in zante town near Solomos Square waterfront offering deep sea fishing. Also lots of fishing opportunities all around the island. Electric bike hire is available in Agios Sostis. Keriou Lake beach in Keri is a family favourite beach. Shallow waters pebble beach with deckchair hire avalable. Also there are plenty of restaurant to choose from. Hire a boat and take it to the island of Marathonisi, the breeding grounds of the aretta-caretta sea turtles. Lagana is a 9 kilometer beach which is the most cosmopolitan of the island. The beach is visited mainly by youth and is the most commercial one on the island. After sunset the town wakes up to disco music into the early hours of the next day. A must visit is Limnionas excellent for snorkeling and diving. Plenty of well kept sun beds with waitress service and with a restaurant completes this package. Stay for the day and finish it with a drink on the restaurant balcony for a lovely sunset. Further up the coast is Porto Vromi. A small bay with deep waters. Take a peddle boat around the bay or board a boat that takes you to the spectacular blue caves and the world famous shipwreck beach. If you wish you can spend some time here before being picked up again later. Do take some water and sun-lotion with you.
All around the island there a beautiful hill side walks with great views of the island and the sea. In Zante town there are an array of Greek and international shops shops catering for all tastes and pockets. Solomos square gets lively in the evening with families using it facilities. Also to be found here is the local cinema, mainly in English, theater and museum. Not far away you will find the English graveyard with some great architecture. Above Solomos square you will find the Venetian Fortress. The exact date that the castle was built is not known. Early reference is made in 1480 when part of the was demolished by the Turks. Main renovation took place in 1515.
Two places to recommend for an evening out is the Amoutsi Restaurant in Agios Sostis. There is Greek folk singing every Friday evening after 8pm ( 20:00 hrs ) with a delicious menu to choose from. Also not to be missed Greek dancing in traditional costumes enjoyed with a BBQ and wine for about €40 per couple (price 2017).
