About Mrs Angie Leach
I originally come from Cape Town, South Africa, and my home is now on the farm in Ivinghoe. My husband's family have owned Town Farm since the 1930's, it is an arable farm, with some sheep farming. Our brother in law also has a "Pick your own" just down the road, with everything from Asparagus in Spring, strawberries, and a long list of fresh vegetables throughout the summer into Autumn. We now have 17 cottages on site, which we started converting from barns in 1995. Many of our guests have enjoyed staying with us from all parts of the world and appreciate the beautiful countryside around us and there is always plenty to do.
Mrs Angie Leach purchased this Cottage in 1930
Why Mrs Angie Leach chose Leighton Buzzard
All our properties are comfortably furnished and offer all the convenience of your own home, all with fully equipped kitchens, some with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Linen and towels are also provided, together with an information pack in the property, with a list of local activities and things to do.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the area because you can be in the middle of the countryside one minute and hopping on the train for a 50 minute ride to London the next. The Chilterns offer a wide variety of activities, from National Trust properties, walking through the bluebell woodlands, driving through the picturesque "Midsomer" villages, to visiting Tring Zoological museum, swooping down the real snow in Milton Keynes Snozone, or playing Top Golf in Watford. All within 30/40 minutes of the farm. We are also close to the Grand Union Canal which stretches from London to Birmingham and which offers leisurely walks and boat hire. We are also only around an hour from Stratford on Avon, a little further to Oxford and Cambridge, and is a good basis for sightseeing.

Lovely Holiday Cottage
Just got round to reviewing this property, we had a lovely time. My wife and I and our two teenage daughters thought the cottage was superb. The whole site was really well laid out and there was quite a bit of weekend camping, which didn’t cause any inconvenience at all. There was a lovely walk down into the village and a little more challenging one to the nearby peak, which gave some spectacular views. All round good place, if we’re in that area in the future, will certainly be staying here again.
Being extremely picky, the only minor negative was single toilet in the bathroom but it didn’t really cause any issues for us,
This location is fantastic for us to come down from Scotland and visit family. We have stayed in Ridgeway before. And simply love town farm. We will be back
Lovely but wet stay at Town Farm
The accomodation suited us fine. Well appointed and clean with everything we needed. We had a good view of Ivinghoe Beacon, which would have been good to climb up from the farm although we failed to do it on the two dry days we had. We walked across the fields and along a bridle path to the Rose and Crown. A short walk of 10 mins ideal for a drink and meal. We would have gone to the pub a couple of times but once again put off by the weather. Will was available in the farm office if we did have any problems. It did get a bit cold with the wet weather and we had the option of running the boiler if necessary although we did just keep warm enough without. Plenty of room for parking, our party had 2 cars. Lots to see locally. Some inside fortunately with the wet weather. Incredible Natural History collection in Tring , free entry. Tring park extensive and good for a walk. Shuttleworth aircraft collection fascinating, and Bletchley Park all inside largely. Also several National Trust properties within 1hr drive. The edge was slightly taken off the week because of probably one of the wettest weeks in June for some time!
We spent a happy week here at Old Stables Town Farm.
Our stay at the Old Stables was an easy comfortable one. We had everything you could need while staying away from home. The cottage was well stocked with kitchen equipment so it was easy to be self catering. Town Farm is in a beautiful location at the bottom of the Chiltern Hills and within walking distance ( over the farm’s fields) of the local village of Ivinghoe where there is a great pub the Rose and Crown, with lots of real ale. However this cottage needs another W.C. That was the only negative point as we spent a happy week here and felt very welcomed by the friendly staff. We will be back I’m sure.
A great place to stay whatever the reason
Whether you are on holiday or seeking short term accommodation these lets are ideal. Plus you have spectacular views of Ivinghoe Beacon!
Family stay for Christmas
We stayed for the Christmas week so that we would be near family in Tring. This worked very well The Old Stables is a good size property and the location worked very well for us. The house was very well equipped, clean and warm. I would highly recommend it to other.
