We arrived at Villa Agatha at 10 30 pm with our two young grandchildren and the rest of the family were to be joining us later in the week.
We took a taxi from the airport and were met at the Villa by Barbara and Gianluca . A lovely couple who looked after the Villa.
They showed us around the Villa and asked if we needed anything to which we said we were ok until the morning.
Only after they left did we see the notice that said we shouldn’t drink the water or even make coffee with it.
We assumed not unreasonably after reading complaint on previous review that we could drink the water but obviously this was not the case yet we were not even provided with a bottle of drinking water for the children and had to wait until the next morning when I contacted Barbara and she sent some for along with breakfast and milk.
The “ Linens provided “ as mentioned on the Homeaway website consists of Bed linen plus 1 bath towel, 1 Hand towel and 1 Small towel at an extra cost. This has to last you for two weeks and if u need clean towels during this time you have to pay an additional charge or wash them yourself and pay for the Electricity as Electricity is not included in the rental of the Villa.
We were told by Barbara that the owner would contact us by email to clarify this. That was a week ago and we are still waiting for that email. Clearly the owner couldn’t care less.
No mention on the website about Electricity being an extra cost.
No Microwave as stated on website, no chopping board had to request one, one hairdryer between two villas , again had to request one , no first aid kit, no soap, no toaster and only 5 coffee mugs between 8 people.
Knives with plastic handles and rusty blades.
The Villa is very remote and a car is absolutely essential. The beach is over 5 KM’s away down an unlit country road.
The 3 KM’s to Alghero mentioned on the website is just to the outskirts of the town.
In my opinion the description of the location of the The Villa is inaccurate. Be sure to check Google maps. I certainly will from now on.
Would I stay here again or recommend to my friends. NEVER !!!

Dear mr. Giovanni, thanks for your lovely review. I know this house is lovely and the view is stunning.
The problem with the taste of water was very simple, because in the field houses have a machine called 'softener', that make the water good and more taste. Simply this machine was not working properly. The problem need to be reported to us during your stay, not later, because change the softener was a simply job. But we were not aware of this problem and no one has ever reported. So sorry for this. Now the softener has been changed and water is perfect. Mr. Giovanni, please feel free to come back to villa Agatha again, I will make a special price for you in order to compensate this disadvantage.
Please feel free to get in touch with me whenever you want to come back in Sardinia. Maria ClickSardegna.
Travel to Alghero
An ancient Catalan hamlet on the sea, an infinity of colors and landscapes, stories and legends of ancient civilizations, are the prerogatives for a trip to Alghero.
Sun and mild temperatures throughout the year, crystal clear sea beaches, the most extreme outdoor sports adventure like hiking, trekking, along with the ancient Sardinian flavors traditions will welcome you. When you walk around the town of Alghero, on its secular walls or among its characteristic cobbled streets, you will experience the unique charm that only the seaside cities can have and will let you discover an infinity of hidden corners where you can enjoy regenerating breaks. Travel deals in Alghero are always available, both for the particular mild climate and for the efficiency of a network of hotel services and accommodation facilities.
Alghero will surprise you, regardless of the end of your trip. For those who love immersing themselves completely in nature, for those looking for breaks in the green, to spend pleasant days in the peace and tranquility of the Mediterranean countryside or for those who are looking for a more active vacation with sport and hiking, Alghero will meet your requirements . Its territory boasts an enchanting and spectacular landscape with unprecedented views, such as Porto Conte Park and the Protected Marine Area. Heterogeneous environments between hills and plains, between coast and sea, favor a wide range of sports activities, routes and excursions above and below sea level. If you think that the beach does not only serve to linger, you can practice the most different sports from windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, water skiing, sailing, sport fishing, kayaking, and diving. If you prefer the tranquility and rest of a day sun-umbrella or long walks along the seashore you have a wide choice of equipped beaches and charming solitary coves.
Alghero offers endless varieties of landscapes: vast white and golden sandy beaches, enchanting coves framed by the colors of Mediterranean nature, soft sand dunes shaped by the wind ... Many easily reachable by land, others accessible only by sea. Lido di Alghero is the largest sandy beach on the coast, with a long white sandy language starting from San Giovanni's beach to continue along the Lido Novelli and the Beach of Maria Pia to the gateway to the township of Fertilia. The beach is equipped for most of its surface and offers every type of service, while the slow digging of sandy bottoms and the tranquility of the waters make this beach a perfect place for families with children. Maria Pia offers white sand dunes that house secular junipers shaped by the wind as well as various types of plants typical of the Mediterranean scrub. Even here, the low and sandy backdrop, as well as the possibility of refreshments in the shade of the homonymous pine forest, make it a favorable place to spend a whole day relaxing in an oasis just a few hundred meters from the city. Follow Le Bombarde, is one of the most renowned and world-famous beaches on the Riviera. One of the most equipped spaces for fun, sports and relaxation. White sand is covered with gorgeous turquoise waters. Behind him lies a lush pine forest. For those who do not like the crowded beaches, the area is also rich in bays and less frequented cliffs. To close the gulf, perfectly embedded in the greenery of Mediterranean scrub, Lazzaretto beach is dominated by the same tower. The wide fine sandy sandy beach (equipped for most of its surface) is surrounded by a series of sandy coves, cobblestones and cliffs lined with crystal clear waters and sheltered by winds.
More north of Alghero, we find Porto Conte, a large creek located along the northern coast of the Coral Riviera. The Gulf of Porto Conte, already known in Roman times, is delimited by the towers of the Faro, Bollo and Tramariglio, and is dominated by the imposing cliff of Capo Caccia. The coast develops for about six kilometers on the Mugoni coastline, framed by a thick vegetation of pines and eucalyptus trees. Further north, at the foot of Capo Caccia's cliff, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub, is the delightful Cala Dragunara. Near the cave you will find the Medusa cave, where Neolithic finds were found, and the Dragunara Swallowtail. From the pier of Cala Dragunara, overlooked by the tower of Bollo, is active the line that accompanies the Cave of Neptune.
