About Gill Swain
We 'discovered' Burry Port in 2013 and moved here in 2016. We looked around for a property and a project that we could turn into holiday accommodation and found this lovely mid terrace cottage in need of some updating. We do hope you'll book with us and enjoy Burry Port and your holiday here, whether you're looking for beaches, woodlands, mountains, relaxation or adventure, we have it all here in South Wales.
Gill Swain purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Gill Swain chose Burry Port
The property looks out across open space to the inner harbour with the marina, lighthouse and beaches just a short walk away. From the cottage you can watch beautiful sunrises in the east and wonderful sunsets to the west.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is close to all the amenities Burry Port has to offer and a short journey to the many attractions of South Wales. With the railway station just a short walk away you don't even need a car to get away from it all!

A lovely home from home holiday cottage.beautifully decorated and possibly the warmest cottage we have ever stayed in. Nice touch having the dog bowls and towels but we went well stocked with dog stuff. However due to the amazingly dry weather we didn’t really need them. Would highly recommend to book a stay.
Fabulous place to stay
We recently stayed for 3 nights at Driftwood Cottage with our two dogs and had a great time. The cottage was spotlessly clean, really well equipped (including dog towels and bowls), comfy beds and great location for lots of walks directly from the property. Downstairs was spacious, with 3 comfy sofas, big TV, games and nice enclosed garden which was good for the dogs. The bedrooms upstairs were welcoming, modern furnished and warm on cold evenings. There is a railway line running behind the house but we didn't notice any noise and wasn't an issue.
Burry Port harbour and beach is 5 minute walk away and Pembury Country Park is a short drive or an hours walk along the coastal path. Both are worth a visit, especially if you are fortunate to have glorious sunshine during your visit like we did.
We've already recommended Driftwood Cottage to our friends. Thanks for everything Gill.
Fantastic stay at Burry Port
The house was clean and welcome throughout. We appreciate the thoughtfulness of our host, Gill Swain. She thought of everything; and even left us a note on fridge that really touched our children. The beds were super comfortable and I had the best sleep I've had in a long time. The WiFi was slow but I suspect that had more to do with the location of the town. Overall, we have every intention of returning and booking another stay as soon as we can set a date.
Thank you Gill.
Brilliant long weekend
Great location, cottage very well equipped, the owner (Gill) has thought of everything, milk, cookies and cake on arrival was very welcome. Garden was lovely and very safe for granddaughter and dogs, would definitely recommend and hope to return at some point.
Great week stay in a lovely cottage
Very clean and comfortable cottage which is well equipped for a very enjoyable stay. The owners are very helpful and will go out of their way to help. The area is lovely where it is situated could not ask for any more highly recommended
Had a great week in your lovely holiday home, you had thought of everything- there was nothing we could fault. Thanks
Burry Port has a car boot sale every Saturday from March through to the end of September, weather permitting. It is held on the green to the front of the cottage, cars are able to set up from 7am and it often lasts until 1pm.
