About Robert Frost
My wife and I first holidayed in Porthleven in 2012 and have been returning every year since; our friends auntie, Maggi, owned the cottage and we always had a wonderfully relaxing time, a true home from home. When we learned that Maggi was considering selling the cottage we took the opportunity to purchase a small piece of the wonderful harbour town of Porthleven and we now consider it our very own An Diank Meur (Great Escape, in Cornish). We never tire of returning to Porthleven to enjoy the wonderful scenery and costal walks with our cocker spaniel. It is a real home-from-home for all the family to enjoy, we hope you love it as much as we do.
Robert Frost purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Robert Frost chose Porthleven
We fell in love with the cottage whilst holidaying here and we loved its cosy interior and wonderful location so close to the harbour, the beach and lovely local pubs and restaurants. Maggi aptly named the cottage An Diank Meur (Cornish for The Great Escape) and we have found this to be true because as soon as you step through the door you escape the real world and relaaax.

Lovely comfortable cottage in great location
We had a great week in Porthleven - a lovely spot with the cottage 5 minutes walk from the harbour. The cottage was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean and with everything you need - exactly as described. Tastefully decorated, period features yet with all mod cons. Strongly recommended and hope to return another time.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at An Diank Meur. We look forward to welcoming you again.
Fabulous cottage.... has everything you could need. Lovely place and great location. Thank you!
Really enjoyed our stay in 7Thomas street Porthleven, top marks for cleaning, spotless.Close to all the amenities the only one thing I would comment on is when returning back to cottage it is difficult to park close too, however we always did find somewhere.
Thank you very much for your review we are pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Great week in Porthleven
Very much enjoyed our week in this property. It has everything you could possibly need and location is good. Just found it slightly challenging due to height issues. Porthleven is beautiful with numerous stunning beaches within easy reach.
Thank you for your five star review! We are pleased you had a good week! We look forward to welcoming you to Porthleven again.
House lovely. Not to far from Harbour
We was lucky with the weather we did lots of rocking pooling with our grandson. We had to leave early (Friday) as our grandson was unwell and was advised to go home .Our only concern was the parking
We was told parking outside house but only if you could find a space
Some days we had to park up the hill .
Thank your for your review, we are sorry that your grandson was unwell, we hope that he feels better soon.
We do let everyone know that cottage does only have on street parking and in busy times like half term sometimes parking is not possible right outside the cottage.
We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
Porthleven is a historic fishing port located to the west of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Porthleven has the distinction of being the most southerly working port in mainland Britain - located on the edge of Mount's Bay, between the Lizard Peninsula and Marazion (St Michael's Mount). The town and harbour, have maintained much of their original charm and character, (through the use of strict conservation and planning control) and attracts large numbers of tourists each year. Many love to come in the winter too, for the spectacular seas and storm-watching.
Porthleven's picture book location and stunning coastal scenery of the area makes this an ideal destination for family holidays and vacations to the West Country - surrounded by spectacular beaches and has easy access to a wealth of local holiday attractions, including St Michael's Mount and The Flambards Adventure Park.
Much of the coastline around the town is designated a Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or is in the stewardship of the National Trust. This character port of Porthleven itself is a vibrant fishing village and arranged around its impressive harbour front are restaurants, cafes, pubs, galleries and shops.
