Part of the Tonnara of Marzamemi historical building and right in the heart of Marzamemi, overlooking the Balata fishermen's harbor, lies the old house of the former Rais of the Villadorata Prince's Tuna, a beautiful and unique place to stay and enjoy the magic atmosphere and life of Marzamemi.
Marzamemi and its tonnara building, whose origin goes back to the period of Arab's ruling in Sicily when, around the year 1000, they built a tuna and a small village around it. The origin of the Marzamemi name has been linked to the Arab name "marsa al hamen" meaning "turtle dove cove".
The Palace of the Prince, right next to the tuna and facing the square Regina Margherita, was build on a project of architect Vermexio.
The house has been recently restored with extreme attention in keeping untouched the original architectural flavor and features. It offers a fully comfortable living room with a view of the Balata, two bedrooms, a large dining room with kitchen and three bathrooms.
