2-bed, 2-bath fisherman's cottage. Private steps to the beach, great for walkers

I'm a publisher Monday-Friday and a fell-runner and climber for the main part of the week. I live in the Lake District and work in London, which seems like a sensible decision about 51% of the time.
Piers purchased this House in 2017
Why Piers chose Ravenglass
I live in Cumbria, and Ravenglass Main St was my dream location for years. On the beach, in the fells, good food and drink, Roman ruins, and a steam-train into Eskdale -- it's the best of the Lake District, but only attracts a fraction of the visitors you'll find in Keswick or Ambleside.
What makes this House unique
Sitting in the back garden at high tide with the sun glinting off the water, the dunes shining yellow and green beyond and the roar of the breakers in the distance...

Perfect spot - bigger than expected
The property was and is fantastic - exceptionally well decorated, bigger than expected while the outside space is just perfect for relaxing after your day out.
Would def return and recommend.
Hidden gem in the Lakes
This lovely property has a spectacular view onto the estuary which is worth the cost of the rental alone.
Add to this fantastically comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen/diner and a fabulous host in the form of Piers and you have a fantastic affordable base from which to explore the Lakes.
The two nearby train stations mean you can get around the Lakes without having to rely on the car and there are a number of great walks starting in Ravenglass.
All three of us loved staying there and we are already planning when we will stay there next.
The cottage was well located for visiting the Western lakes. It has a great kitchen with great views.
Wonderful week at Dunlin Cottage, Ravenglass
Dunlin Cottage is a very well kept and equipped house at a superb location. To the South, from the spacious wooden terrace from which one can directly enter the estuary, there are magnificent views of the estuary where the rivers Irt, Mite and Esk find their way into the Irish see. With your camera, don't forget to cross the (foot)bridge along the railroad bridge and, before sunset, stroll towards the Saltcoats campsite and enjoy the magnificent views of the estuary and the fells in the distance. We had excellent weather (2nd week August 2019), except for one day which we used to drive up to nearby Scotland, and had plenty of opportunity to eat outside at the terrace. Dunlin house's location near Wast water (my favorite Lake) and the Scafell range make it ideal for walking in that fantastic area, but the (easier) walk towards Muncaster Castle and the Green Station, suggested by the owner of the Cottage, were beautiful too. Our daugther in particular enjoyed the modern TV set with its access to an endless series of youtube horseback riding films etc. On the whole, an unforgettable and relaxing experience for us and a number one location to go back too.
What a lovely place to stay!
Very comfortble house with beautiful view. It's in a quiet part of the Lake District but close enough to everything in this very attractive part of England.
We hope to come back again someday.
Heavenly Views in Tranquil Setting
A cozy and well decorated, spotlessly clean cottage, serene location with views of the sea. You walk right out of the kitchen/dining room onto the large clean deck with unobstructed views of the estuary. Tides coming in and out allowed for daily walks across the dunes.
You enter the house into the spacious lounge with large TV and plenty of seating. The beds were to die for, complemented with top quality bedding and pillows.
Parking right in front, large enough for all but the largest SUV’s. Ravenglass is a small village with 2 pubs and a hotel which all do food. The Ratty Arms was our favourite, right next to the historic train station. Be sure to visit the train museum (it’s free and has lots of helpful staff only too willing to share their experiences)
Local groceries can be picked up at the local Spar garage, 5 mins drive away.
The listing is perfectly accurate and delivered the reprieve a busy family from London needed.
