About Colin Marshall
Hello I'm Colin. I've been enjoying the delights of Dartmouth for several years after visiting with friends one New Year. I looked at many houses for over 18 months and fell in love with Chapel House in the Autumn of 2017. I'm originally from Kinver in Staffordshire and have been living in Wollaston, West Midlands for the past 13 years. I'm a regular in Kingswear and love the friendly village atmosphere. I've booked holidays before using Owners Direct and it seemed a sensible way to letting others know they can stay at Chapel House. I am more than welcome to offer advice and tips, what to do, where to eat, events, best beaches etc - please get in touch.

Why Colin Marshall chose Dartmouth
I've been holidaying in Dartmouth for several years spending many happy days/nights/weeks here. Experts say you know within 7 seconds whether or not you are going to buy a property.... I hadn't even stepped though the gate and I knew Chapel House was right. It is a beautiful old house, dating back nearly 200 years and it definitely has the cute factor or 'curb appeal'. Did I mention the view?! The location for us is perfect, less than a 5 minute walk to the Lower Ferry and The Steam Packet, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Seeing the steam train come in and leave is always a welcome sight and watching the Higher Ferry is so mesmerising! Time drifts away with you.
What makes this House unique
There are five main features to love about Chapel House; Firstly, it has to be the view. Seeing Dartmouth and the Royal Naval College across the water is so magical, the marina is our side of the river and so you can watch people messing about with the boats too. The 'curb appeal' and cute factor of Chapel House, its just beautiful, outside as well as in! Wood Lane, its width restriction actually is a real benefit for us! It means very little traffic, only residents of Wood Lane drive down it, being so quiet means a very peaceful nights sleep. Chapel House is almost at the bottom of the hill, meaning an almost flat walk back from the pubs/marina car park/bistro/cafe/village shop, its just a final steep push up the last 25 meters! Two other features that we love is that its 'upside-down' giving the best views from the main living areas, and that both bedrooms are en-suite, the main bedroom having a large bathroom, perfect for couples sharing. Chapel House is within 200 metres of The South West Coastal path, which offers so many different options for exploring on foot all year round. There's also fantastic walks up-river with some great places to see and pubs to stop off at. Kingswear and Dartmouth are incredibly vibrant, all year round there is something going on.

Spent 3 nights at Colin's place in Kingswear. Beautiful property overlooking the river with loads to do both on the doorstep and further afield. A great few days.
So pleased you had a such a good time, thanks for the great feedback and hopefully you can visit Chapel House again soon. Thanks, Colin
We enjoyed it so much I would like to buy a holiday home there.
Beautiful location and views
We loved Chapel Hill! Kingswear and Dartmouth are such cute towns with much to see and explore. The house was perfect - fantastic views from the upstairs and well equipped with everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!
Thank you Lynn, so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Kingswear. We’d love to have you back soon. Colin
Great location and ideal for what we wanted!
Great place to take a break from the Midlands. Easily accessible and a fantastic property to spend time in and also a good position to explore Kingswear and Dartmouth.
Excellent views. Cosy & Comfortable.
We had a great weekend at Chapel House. The property has two spacious double bedrooms, each with en-suites. A very sizeable and well-equiped kitchen-diner and a cosy lounge. Immaculately presented. All rooms have large panoramic windows overlooking the harbour which make for a great view at the Breakfast table.
The property is a short walk away from the ferries, the railway station and pubs. It is perfectly located just high enough for an unobstructed view of the river and harbour without having a strenuous hike back home on an evening (make a note of the last ferry back (11pm) if staying late in Dartmouth). Parking is included although it is not possible to drive right to the front door so pack wisely.
The owner was very knowlegable about the local area and suggested many activities, including a few local walks. We appreciated his suggestion to have breakfast at the Bistro down the road. Tasty.
Would certainly recommend and we will be returning in the future.
Beautiful and cosy
Nicely equipped with a beautiful view over the estuary to Dartmouth. We were fortunate with some sunshine and only a short walk to the coastal paths. Fantastic.
Chapel House is approximately 150m from Dartmouth Steam Railway Station, you can watch the trains come in from the window!
Other nearby attractions are Paignton Zoo, Blackpool Sands, National Trust Greenway, Colleton Fishacre, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Dartmouth Castle, Dart Marina Hotel and Spa, just to name a few!
