About the property

Elegant, Comfortable, Easy. Fully Updated to the highest standard, Lift, A.C.

Who hasn’t dreamed of having their own pied-à-terre in the heart of Florence? With sky-high ceilings and the Tuscan sunshine streaming in through the windows, the fully updated Suite Deluxe proves that some dreams really do come true.

Start your morning at a leisurely pace: The king-sized memory foam mattress is so comfortable you might find yourself wanting to linger in pajamas all day (the bed can also be arranged as two twins).

One thing worth getting up for? The golden travertine spa bath, inspired by the famous hammams of Turkey. The spacious walk-in “emotional shower” features soothing color therapy, steam and aromatherapy, leaving you refreshed and relaxed.

You might brew a coffee from the in-room espresso machine and sip it while seated at the custom-designed glass-and-steel dining table. Or meander over to the antique rolltop desk to write an envy-inducing postcard to friends back home.

Lounge in the main salon among antique furnishings and historic Florentine architecture. But with a fully updated kitchen, Smart TVs, air conditioning, a washer/dryer and fast wi-fi throughout, you have all the conveniences of the 21st century.

When you are ready to venture out, you’ll find yourself in the middle of everything. The central train station, the Piazza del Duomo and the San Lorenzo cathedral are just minutes away on foot. When you arrive, I'll escort you from the train station to the apartment myself, so you don't have to worry about navigating alone.

The classic San Lorenzo neighborhood is full of romantic trattorias as well as historic sites like the church of Santa Maria Novella, a masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance architecture; the church of San Lrenzo, the Central Market; and the Medici Chapels, with tombs sculpted by Michelangelo.

This apartment's central location puts the best of Florence at your fingertips. But with five-star comfort and amenities, you may also be tempted to stay in at Suite Deluxe and master the sweet art of doing nothing.

Why Pier Luigi Pisani chose San Lorenzo

The apartment is in a strategic location, a stone throw from central train station, Duomo Cathedral and all attractions. There's an elevator that's not a common facility in the center of the city and the building itself is elegant and of historical and cultural value, residence of Ugo Foscolo's patron Candida Quirina Mocenni, Martelli's relative, in '700.

What makes this apartment unique

A unique location between Santa Maria Novella, Cappelle Medicee, San Lorenzo Market and Duomo Cathedral. The area is full of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and close to the incredible in-door market of San Lorenzo, the gastronomic mecca of the city.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Pier is the best host I have seen so far. He is very friendly and nice to accommodate our changes in the trip (because of the Air France Pilots' strike, we have been changing the arrival time but Pier is so patient and nice to us). He welcomed us in the apartment and showed us around. Let us know how to operate all the equipment in his lovely apartment. He even bought us fruit and drinks to welcome us. He also provided us a map of Florence and told us where are the attractions and the direction. Gave us useful tips and restaurant recommendations. He sent us email on the next day to make sure we do not have any questions.

For the apartment itself, it is located at the city center which is less than 10 minutes walk from the train station. The interior is remodeled and it gives you modern but blended with historical feeling (the building was built in 17th century). It is the best apartment we stayed during our Europe trip. We for sure will recommend this property to our friends and will come visit again in the future. =)

Great apartment and location with the ideal host.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the main train station and the bus station where the shuttle bus from the airport arrives. We’d made arrangements via WhatsApp with Piero (apartment owner) to meet us outside the apartment. Piero showed us everything we would need to know about the apartment including the lift which we found very handy with our luggage and often when returning after a long day of sightseeing!

The second floor (3rd for Americans) apartment was as the reviews describe: extremely clean, very well appointed, a large comfortable bed, a great shower, all the kitchen equipment you would need, a new washer / dryer, plenty of food and bathroom items (including milk, eggs, bread, butter, jams, juice, prosecco, water, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste). Piero also showed us how to work the Nespresso machine, the steam bath settings and the TV and Bluetooth speaker options. Piero used a map in the apartment to show us where we were in relation to the sights (all within short walking distance) and recommend some restaurants. Piero kept in touch throughout the week - not intrusively but just an occasional WhatsApp asking if we were happy and if we needed anything. In summary - the perfect host!

I think the best thing of many was the apartment’s location - less than a 3 minute walk and you are looking straight at the magnificent Duomo (considered to be at the heart of the city). We were easily able to walk to all the many sights and even the Boboli Gardens (south of the river) were less than 20 minutes by foot). Being in the heart of the city did mean there is some noise from the street but it didn’t disturb us from sleeping well on the memory foam topped bed.

I’d looked at well regarded 3 and 4 star hotels before deciding on this apartment and it was a great decision. For a similar cost, we had more room than a hotel and all the amenities for cooking and laundry which saved us money. Whilst we always ate dinner out, several breakfasts and lunches were enjoyed using the produce from the great supermarket right next door to the apartment ground floor entrance - ideal.

With so much to see and enjoy in Florence, we may return for another week, if we do we’ll be sure to stay here again. Thanks Piero!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

This location is very convenient for travelers not using a car. It is an easy walk from the SM Novella train station. The market is next door and restaurants are plentiful. It is a six minute walk to Mercato Centrale (we loved the food court there). All of the famous sights are close.

Piero met us and gave us a lot of helpful pointers about how things operated in the apartment. The apartment is very comfortable for two and very attractive. There is an elevator and that was a rare but wonderful amenity.

So what would cause me to give 4 stars rather than 5. We selected this accommodation because it had a washer and dryer. We were traveling for an extended period of time and chose to bring only a carry on suitcase. We needed to be able to wash clothes. The washer and drier worked but when it was completed the door would not unlock so that the clothes could be removed. Piero gave us instructions about turning off and on and waiting for it to release. The first few times that worked. The last time we washed we waited 18 hours and it still didn’t open. After goggling the make of the washer, one of the trouble shooting suggestions was to disconnect it from the power source. We were unable to find the power source, but Piero had shown us the breaker box in the hall area, after flipping that the machine opened. Perhaps you are wondering why we didn’t contact Piero. We did. We sent an email, a text and called the number provided and were unable to reach him. Prior to this he had been very responsive, even offering unsolicited suggestions to make our trip more interesting.

To earn five stars I would suggest that the washer dryer not be listed as an amenity or repair/replace it so that it can be used.

Owner's Response: I’m really sorry for the inconvenience. Washer/dryer was actually broken after your stay. There’s a brand new one in place since the day after you left. So it will be still listed as a viable amenity.

Lovely stay in Florence inhanced by this perfectly situated apartment.Piero was a fantastic host.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very high tech with WiFi, TV, music and CD equipment. It has every comfort. Each room was very clean and very well appointed with all of the necessities. Piero has thought of everything for the traveler and has a very well equipped kitchen with nice dishes and cutlery. Numerous small kitchen appliances as well. The steam shower is a dream with rain shower as well as had held shower. The washer/ dryer, although a little tricky to figure out, was very convenient. The apartment is very conveniently located to all of the sights of city center and the train station. The supermarket right next door was great! We could not have been happier with this apartment and we highly recommend it.

A perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Pier is an amazing host! He met us at the train station once we arrived and provided great recommendations on places to eat, visit and enjoy around Florence. The apartment is in a great location. Walking distance from the train station and walking distance to everything great about Florence. WHEN we go back, we will certainly reach back out to Pier. Thanks, Pier!

Gorgeous stylish apartment in heart of Florence

  • 5 of 5

Pier met us at the station & showed us to and around the apartment, while providing lots of local tips and ideas for our stay. He was the perfect host. The flat was finished to a very high spec, and very centrally located in the San Lorenzo district right between the San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novella churches - literally 10 mins walk from the Duomo and the station also. The supermarket below stocked all we needed for a week of self catering and the apartment had all ((plus a few more) necessary cooking facilities. It was spotlessly clean and the heating worked very efficiently... (we were there in March, so weather was a bit chilly and wet, but there is so much to do inside the museums and galleries that this was absolutely not a problem!). We loved our stay and would definitely recommend both Pier and the apartment to anyone else considering a holiday in Florence.
