About this property

SunSite Estates Waterfront

We invite you to the Island of Manitoulin. Our cottage is available year round, and has all the amenities of home (including even a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer).

Located on the tranquil waters of Manitowaning Bay, you will undoubtedly enjoy your stay. The cottage features two bedrooms, the master being especially spacious. We can accommodate up to six guests, with a pull out couch.

The cottage is situate on a road off of Highway 6, about mid-way between South Baymouth (the Ferry terminus) and Little Current (where there is access to the Island by bridge).

Fishing is excellent (pike is plentiful). A world record brown trout was caught in the North Channel last Autumn.

There is a propane barbecue at the disposal of all our guests. TV, VCR and DVD are also available. Guests are kindly asked to bring their own linen. As no smoking is permitted within the cottage.

Championship golf is nearby at Rainbow Ridge (boasting the fastest greens in Northern Ontario).

Local restaurants are great, with many offering the local delicacy of whitefish from Lake Huron (two of our favourites are The Old Schoolhouse in Providence Bay and The Garden’s Gate Restaurant in Tehkummah).

Stunning view in a gorgeous setting
Met or exceeded our expectations in every way. Owner is responsive and attentive, property is absolutely beautiful, and the island itself never ceased to amaze us. Wonderful vacation, and a wonderful place to stay.

Great place for a fall getaway
We enjoyed our weeklong stay at this cottage. It is on a peaceful, private waterfront location, with a nice little beach, conveniently located near Highway 6. The modern cottage is spacious and clean with a well appointed kitchen and all the modern conveniences one could hope for. The cottage faces east, so we were able to watch the sun rise directly across Manitowaning Bay. The only inconvenience is that the renters have to take the garbage to the municipal garbage depot themselves, and the information package didn’t give the address of the depot. We ended up taking the garbage with us for disposal at home. But that is a minor complaint. Overall, we would highly recommend this cottage to other renters. We stayed there at the end of September, and the fall colours on the island were lovely. Had we been there during the summer, I am sure we would have made great use of the sandy beach in front of the cottage.

Reserve. Repeat.
Our second stay was even better than the first. We spent 10 nights this time a month later than last year (Sept 1 -Sept 11) and the weather was better than in August 1 to 8 last year. This is an immaculate cottage, waterfront, with a lovely rocky beach - fissils galore to be found plus a variety of beautiful beach rocks. A very relaxing place with a deck that is perfect for dining outdoors and just sitting, reading and gazing at the water. Stars and The Milky Way on a clear night are a beautiful sight, never seen in more populated areas.

Cottage with the little private beach!
Would definitely rent this cottage again! A home away from home! Big, bright, updated, lots of space! Our own little private beach area, so awesome!

Ideal holiday location
The cottage is ideally located for a family holiday. On the shores of Manitowaning Bay with a sand beach and the capability to launch a small boat.. The cottage is well equipped with cooking utensils, glasses and dishes. Like much of the island the Internet is not very good so alternate entertainment may be required, especially for children. Nonetheless the cottage is comfortable and I would highly recommended it for a holiday on beatiful Manitoulin Island.
