Such a beautiful location - we had a wonderful break and our boys loved going up the river on the boat and playing in the pool. Agnes was a very welcoming host, thank you!
Well equipped clean house in a gorgeous setting Agnes was a superb host too
We highly recommend it
Igea and her family were superb host.
I recommend them
Beautiful gite and fantastic location
We had a very relaxing stay last week! The setting is perfect- with the adjacent river and lovely pool and location is great - close to shops etc and just over an hour from Disneyland! The gite is spacious and comfortable with everything you need....having games in the gite was brill and the table football was a total hit! Agnes was a most welcoming host. Thank you- we hope to return soon!
Johanna and her family were very good hosts.
I will receive them another time with pleasure.
Wonderful, relaxing place to stay
Spent a week here in the summer, very tranquil location. Within walking distance of the village which has a great bakery for warm croissants for breakfast. Also has a supermarket, pharmacy and a restaurant. House itself sits right on the river, master bedroom has a small balcony giving a fantastic view. If you get up early enough you will see otters fishing for their breakfast, herons and possibly the odd hot air balloon going overhead. Very peaceful and Agnes was very helpful and friendly no issues using their swimming pool and tennis court in extensive grounds running alongside the river. Can also use the canoe or boat to take a trip down the river. If you looking just to relax for a week this is the place, if you want to go exploring Fontainbleau chateaux and forest only 15min drive away or walk to the village train station and go to Paris less than an hour away. Sancerre vineyards just over an hour's drive away.
Would love to go back again
Pluses & Minuses
First, the pluses. The tennis court and pool were very nice, as well as the owner of the property. We had cool, rainy weather during our stay, so we ended up leaving early. The location is near many of the must-see chateaus and about an hour from Paris. You must have a car because nothing is located within walking distance. Now, for the minuses. The house itself was in a deteriorated, rather shabby state with chipping paint, old & worn furnishings, torn curtains and not very clean. The pictures do not reflect the true condition. I had to go to the local grocery to buy disinfectant cleanser to clean the walls in our bedrooms, as there were no headboards for the beds and it was very dirty. We did not even bother using the kitchen. The landscaping around the cottage was neglected. A fresh coat of paint, thourough cleaning, replacing the worn furnishings and sprucing up the landscaping would make a tremendous difference. There is a lot of potential, but truly in need of TLC.
On the edge of the forest of Fontainebleau, along the river.
