Lovely Weekend Break
A very cosy but spacious house, well equipped and perfectly situated for exploring the Peak District.
Overall impressions very good.
We enjoyed our stay at Lantern View. Bedrooms all very nice and comfy beds. Lounge was comfortable but would have liked a bit more light in the daytime ie blinds didn't all work properly. However, that said, we all enjoyed ourselves and would book again.
Comfy, spacious and well equipped
The house is great - big rooms, practical furniture that easily fit 8 adults plus two big dogs and a very well equipped kitchen. Lots of great touches like a welcome box of biscuits and lots of games to play in the living room, plus a fantastic location right on the pennine bridle way with easy access to the high peaks and Lantern Pike.
The fire was in the process of being put in with gas plumbing which was unfortunate, and we loved the basement / cellar as a place to put muddy wet kit but it's not easy to access from the outside nor warm enough to dry kit out, so best to use a radiator if you get very damp.
Had a lovely stay though and plan to return some day.
Lantern View is located on the Sett Valley Trail and just 4 miles from Kinder Scout - ideal for cycling and walking holidays
