About Françoise Riffet
I settled some years ago in this peaceful and natural place, away from the summer hustle and bustle of tourist zones but at the same time in an ideally central location to discover Haute Provence. I like living a simple and authentic life here.
Françoise Riffet purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Françoise Riffet chose Noyers-sur-Jabron
This house was constructed next to my main residence. I wanted to share this pleasure of being here and help other people discover a secret part of Haute Provence. This enables me at the same time to self-finance it.
What makes this Cottage unique
I don’t just hand the keys to my tenants. I like helping them to take advantage of their stay with my knowledge about the region and all its resources.

peaceful gite in beautiful setting
This is the fourth time I have been to La Prairie. I come here mainly to indulge my hobby of astrophotography as the skies are dark and the weather good, but you can't guarantee clear skies at night even in the south of France!
Francoise is very welcoming, helpful and never intrusive. Isis the dog is perhaps the most friendly dog you will ever meet. The view across to the hills is amazing, the gite is clean and comfortable and I am sure I will return again.
Very enjoyable in a lovely quite location
The owner is very welcoming, speaks english and was very helpful. A lovely location to stay if you enjoy walking and looking at wildlife.
Sheila and husband are so friendly and nice! every day walking and looking after beautiful nature! I will be very glad to welcome you again and to offer my little weadow for nighting butterfly and songs of nightingale.
A great gite and an excellent host.
A very comfortable gite with a superb view from the terrace. Good walking country with the nearby Vieux Noyers abandoned village very interesting and with good views - plenty of useful information and maps in the gite. Francoise, the owner, was very helpful to us, especially when our luggage was lost by Air France. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Elegant, well equipped Gite with stunning views.
We spent a week in this superb Gite and would thoroughly recommend it.
The Gite had a modern, tastefully decorated, clean interior with everything we needed. It also remained cool in the July heat which was a bonus. It was also very useful to be able to park the car right next to the cabin in the shade.
The garden and patio area was superb. Ideal for eating outside and relaxing. The garden was so peaceful and the views over to the mountains stunning.
Francoise was very welcoming and so helpful. We also fell in love with Izzy the dog while we were there. She was charming.
We hope to return one day.
Lovely peaceful place to stay
We had a wonderful two weeks, walking in the nearby mountains. Lots of wild flowers, butterflies and birds still singing. A wonderful comfortable base for some walking.
Thank you very much. I enjoyed your stay at La Prairie, especially observation butterflies.
Extremely peaceful with views to match
We had an amazing two weeks there, very relaxing, perfect for exploring locally and a little further a field, lots of walks locally or a short drive away. If you want to just sit in the garden and relax listening to the birds and crickets just the place, you can zone right out. Francoise is amazing, gave us tips of where to explore and was a brilliant help allowing us to use her computer to rebook flights etc. when there was a strike at air traffic control, would definitely recommend this property.
Thank you very much
In the heart of Haute Provence (in Jabron Valley, in front of Lure Mountain), some minutes away from Sisteron. Jabron, the right bank tributary of Durance, follows the valley from West to East 35 km north of Lure Mountain, in parallel with its ridge that culminates 1826 m high. The valley is in the heart of Haute Provence, not far from Ventoux Mountain and Luberon in the West, from Durance valley and Monges mountain range in the East. In the North, Sisteron canyon opens to the Alps: Serre-Ponçon Lake, Ubaye, Ecrins mountain range, Allos valley, Devoluy, etc. are an hour drive away. Noyers-sur-Jabron, our village, is located only 14 km away from Sisteron, 45 km away from Digne-les-Bains, 60 km away from Manosque and 66 km away from Gap. Aix en Provence is a 70-minute drive away by the highway and Marseille is a 90-minute drive away. Therefore, we are in a transition area between the Mediterranean and the Alps mountain range so we benefit from an original mix of Mediterranean and mountain climate. This can be seen in the unique coexistence of species not only of flowers but also of animals.
