Broken-Sky Lodge was completed in 2018, with a private hot tub to the side set in the raised decked area. The hot tub is ideal to relax in after a day exploring the fabulous countryside or attending one of the nearby wedding venues. The lodge is set on a small park on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and is surrounded by woodland. There is a very good on-site restaurant serving meals and drinks, and a pub is just under a mile into the village. This detached, modern designed lodge is one of the newer builds offering an open plan living space with large windows looking out to the decked area. Broken-Sky Lodge backs onto the trees on the side of the park. The local village store stocks a great range of essentials and some wines and spirits, and even a wedding card should you forget to bring one along.
Bellingham is only 9 miles away with a shop, post office, pubs and cafés. Whilst in the area, Kielder Water Park and Forest should not be missed, here you are truly in the depths of the outstanding, highly acclaimed Dark Sky National Park, famed for star gazing and tranquillity. You can book in advance to attend an astronomy evening suitable for amateurs. A great place to stay in winter too if you like to visit the Winter Wonderland in Kielder, then come back and relax in the hot tub.
A visit over to the Northumberland Heritage Coast is well worth a day trip, and is a lovely journey taking you to another Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of golden beaches, historic castles and little friendly villages, inns and tea rooms. The cultural city of Newcastle is only 32 miles away with art, theatres, shops and leisure facilities. A weekend will never be enough to explore all this unspoilt county, and many visitors return again year after year to visit the abundance of attractions throughout the region.
