Great family vacation!!
This was our first trip to Colorado and we spent an entire week here! The views were amazing! The sound of the stream running along the driveway combined with the peaceful outdoors felt like being at a spa! We were about two hours from everything we wanted to do (Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and Rocky Mountain National Park). It was nice to relax here at the end of each day. The hike to St. Mary’s Glacier is a must do...absolutely beautiful! Idaho Springs has some cute shops....we spent an afternoon there just exploring. Thanks for a great stay!!
Amazing views amid pines and privacy- with a hot tub! Pretty awesome!
We had a great family vacation w our grown children and 80 yr old mother. The home was perfect for our needs, close to great trails and we had a wonderful time. The home was comfortable spacious and provided changing scenery daily as the weather changed. Loved the creek along the street.
House was quaint and cozy!
Perfect for our family. Way up in the mountains but incredible view all throughout house.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Dwelling Place. The location was just fantastic. Idaho Springs is a nice little town with plenty to do like white water rafting and zip-lining. There is also a town area for shopping and eating out. The house was high up on the mountain with magnificent views. It is walking distance to the trail head to the St. Mary's Glacier trail. This is a great hike leading to an amazing lake where you can easily spend a day picnicking and enjoying the views. There were even people hiking up above the lake to ski down on the snow (in late June). The best part of the house is the deck with the breath taking views where you can grill on the patio and relax in the hot tub. It was everything we hoped it would be.
Fantastic and secluded
The cabin was everything we hoped for on the way from Chicago. About a 30 minute drive from town it wasn't too far away in case a grocery run is needed. 7 day stay was great!!
The most relaxing and beautiful rental home ever!
We stayed at the Dwelling Place for 6 nights and loved every minute of it! The house was clean and welcoming upon arrival. It was very well stocked with all of the basics and more (coffee filters, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, paper products, crock pot, toaster, pots/pans, coffee maker, etc.). We only had to bring our own food and clothing. The online photos can't possibly capture the beauty of the home and surrounding views! There were gorgous views from every room in the house. We loved waking up each morning to look out the strategically placed windows which showcased the snow capped mountains. We mostly enjoyed the quiet and private location. Each morning we would sit out of the deck enjoying reading, drinking coffee and eating breakfast. The many hummingbirds were a joy to watch as well. The hot tub was one of the many great features of the home! It was easy to operate and had many settings to choose from. We used it multiple times a day and in all weather conditions, day and night. There is a babbling brook that runs along the driveway that added extra charm. The drive up to the home from Idaho Springs was beautiful and a short 20 minute drive. We did not use the guest house but it was also charming with 2 sets of bunkbeds, a living area and full bathroom. This would be perfect for extra guests or kids. There is a Safeway in town and it is best to stop there before heading up to the house. The town of Idaho Springs is quaint and had some fun shops and restaurants. The local Kum & Go convenience store is a nice place to stop for fuel and other quick grab and go items for your stay. The staff there is friendly and helpful! There is a rafting business next door if you want to raft or tube down the river. Plan to climb St. Mary's Glacier. The parking lot is only 5 minutes from the home and the fee is $5 to park. The lake and glacier on the hike is well worth the climb! Rocky Mountain National Park is about a 2 hour drive. Golden and Boulder are also easy drives from the home. In summary, we had the best vacation ever and we would highly recommend this home to anyone who enjoys relaxing vacations and beautiful views! Thank you to this local family for making their home available to others!
