Description of the property is spot on. Great location
Couldn't have asked for a nicer cottage or kinder host... Can't wait to come back... this will be a regular stay for us for sure..
We had a great experience staying at the Beachside Spa Cottage! The trip was a mixture of business and pleasure, with the cottage offering fantastic flexibility for staying with a work colleague, and later my wife. The cottage is exceptionally well appointed with very modern appliances. The deck and view to the water are perfect for an afternoon drink. Of course be aware the cottage is right on the Esplanade, which provides extremely easy access to the beach, but does mean there will be cars passing by regularly, which we never found to be a problem.
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Beautifully set out for a relaxing holiday. There was 6 of us and we never seemed under each others feet. Loved how doors opened up to create inside/outside space. The icemaker fridge was a hit. Only downside was table only seats 4; but as we ate outside this was a very minor grip. Use of sporting equipment was a bonus.
Good short stay place.
Property was very clean and neat, and the hosts were very accommodation. Road noise was a huge and constant issue; even with the doors closed. Sometimes so loud it was impossible to hear the television. The house is probably good for 1/2 night stay, but any longer and you realise that there is no pantry or place to store food or essential cooking items. The same as in the bathrooms; looks very swish but absolutely no vanity space or storage for any items; even hard pressed to leave tooth brush and paste out let alone anything else. There is also a lack of seating in the lounge area, and a restriction on being about to move things around to suit your families needs. The location to the beach is great and local shops are near by, but not really walking distance. Love the spar but very exposed to the road and hordes of foot traffic on the paths - fish bowl feeling. Also a lack of shade and being unable to wear sunscreen made it difficult to enjoy during the day. The spar also took a fair bit of maintenance, covers, cleaning cycles and chemicals. Lots of rules and regulations about it took out some of the joy.
Over all would recommend for only short stays.
Dear Terri, Thank you for mentioning how clean you found the cottage to be. I am happy that Jayesh made you feel welcome. He mentioned that he saw you several times through your visit and your feedback to him was that you wish you could move there, For all guests we would hope that you give us the pleasure of ensuring your comfort by letting us know how we can be of help to you during your stay rather than just enduring an unsatisfactory holiday. This is disappointing for the guests and the hosts as well. For guests who are sensitive to noise or live in a rural area, you may prefer the JUNGLE Cottage which is recessed from The Esplanade. During peak holiday dates there is definitely an increase in daytime traffic on the waterfront road. Guests have often commented that after 7pm it is very quiet and peaceful. We have had many guests stay for extended visits over the last 4 years, including family members, and have never had a request for a pantry before but I will keep it in mind should other guests comment on the need for one. We place spare towels, hand towels, first aid kit and other bathroom supplies in the 2 generous shelves of the bathroom cabinet. Guests would be more than welcome to relocate these to the empty storage cupboards above the bedroom wardrobes. We place these items here so that guests are aware that they have been provided for their use. They are large items that can easily be relocated to create more space for longer stays. The restriction on moving furniture has come about with heavy pieces being moved and the housekeepers being unable to move them back on their own. The precious Fraser Island Satinay floors are particularly subject to damages if items are not moved with some care. We ask that guests let us know if they would like to rearrange the furniture. Depending on how heavy the items are, we would request that they are moved with care or we arrange to have helpers come in to move the pieces for you. I have included a number of places of interest with their exact distances from the cottage. Guests may have differing ideas of "walking distance" so I have left the exact meters or kilometres in the description as is. Some guests leave their car and travel everywhere with the bikes from five3five and others enjoy having the time to walk along the waterfront road. Tourists and locals tend to walk on the beach side of the road to enjoy the view, sea breeze and shade. For guests who will be troubled by the foot traffic
