About Jodi Freeman
The property at 150 Oakwood Road was one of the very first purchased pieces of property in the area. My mom was born in 1942 and grew up enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee her entire life. Her father and his father-in-law built the original "camp" back in the mid to late 30's. When school was out for the summer, my mom and my Grandparents would pack up and leave Boston to head to Wolfeboro. When I was born, we traveled from Ohio to NH every summer to visit. The beauty and peacefulness brought me to NH for college where I spent my summers at "the camp" working as a lifeguard at Brewster Beach. My siblings love the area as much as I do and actually, my brother got married on the property back in 2009 (my family in the photo). The local people are welcoming and exude an extreme love for home and all of the secrets the area holds. My grandfather always called it "God's Country" and we are truly blessed to be able to enjoy a piece of it every time we visit!
Why Jodi Freeman chose Wolfeboro
My great-grandparents found this piece of property back in the early 1900's. When my grandmother and grandfather were married, they took over the property and built a gorgeous little cottage which later became known as "the camp" to my mom and all of the grandchildren. I have been in love with this location my entire life. To this day, our first visit to town includes a trip to the Yum Yum Shop for homemade goodies and a delicious ice cream at Bailey's Bubble. When my grandfather passed away, my mom moved up to "the camp" from Ohio. She decided to do an overhaul and tore the old house down and replaced it with the beautiful white and blue A-frame cottage it is today. My mom had always planned to move in to the house once she reached retirement age but, unfortunately, her time was cut very short when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease shortly after she arrived. She is now in our care in Georgia. While we still visit the house quite frequently, we have all decided that my mom would want as many people to share in the love of this property just as she did. We hope others can enjoy the peaceful, breathtaking views and experience all that the home and The Oldest Summer Resort in America have to offer. Memories that will last a lifetime!
What makes this Cottage unique
From the smell of fresh pine trees and clean air, to the crystal clear waters that you can many times spot a small mouth bass swimming below, there really is nothing like it. Fill your days with water activities and nature hikes or just sit back, relax, and catch up on a good book while sitting on the dock, soaking up some sun. We truly hope those who are able to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the home will enjoy it as much as we do.

Lovely lakefront house
We were in Wolfeboro for a family wedding, and wished we had more time to enjoy this beautiful home and lovely area. The upstairs guest complained the beds were a bit too old to be cozy, but otherwise the house was perfect for our family of 6. Amenities were thoughtful, and the house was spotless. The house is in a private, quiet neighborhood with a wonderful view of the lake. We would definitely stay here again.
Location of house on lake is beautiful. Great place to go in Fall for leaf-peeping. Very convenient to downtown. Nice touch with the coffee tokens, even though we didn't get a chance to use them. We enjoyed the bagged coffee the owner left for us!
Our fall getaway
We love the Wolfeboro home it was comfortable and well equipped.. we loved our nightly fires by the fireplace.Nice little getaway
Beautiful lake property - clean and serene!
Beautiful property with spectacular lake views. Seamless check-in/check-out, extra goodies were there to welcome us. Property manager is very gracious - answered questions promptly. Loved reading the family history of "The Camp." I would certainly stay here again. Thank you, Jodi!
Everyone in the lake!
Fabulous location, a quiet road and really easy to get to town, shopping and activities. And there’s nothing like swooping down the slide into that lovely water to make you feel like a kid again!
The home’s wide open windows of the great room have an inviting view of the lake. The entire home is roomy and the deck has plentiful furniture for lounging or dining.
Loved having the washer and dryer be convenient to the living space (i.e., not in a basement) but removed enough to shut off while the family chatted or watched TV.
Even the formal dining room was very handy as a workspace for our laptops.
It’s great having a master bedroom with bath on the first floor. Plenty of storage which came in handy for us, as we rented for over 5 weeks.
The rental manager was very attentive and whatever we needed she was willing to provide. We’ll go back again! With every factor combined, we found it very welcoming.
Another fantastic visit!
Our 4th visit and we will be back!
Thank you, Lisa! We LOVE having you and appreciate your visits! So glad you appreciate the place like we do!! :)
