Let's start with the positives: Great location, close to everything yet far enough away from the super busy end of Ft, Myers Beach that it is quite peaceful. We found the movie theatre next door a plus as it gave us extra privacy and blocked any road noise we might have heard. The house itself is clearly in the midst of being updated. Incredible pool, hot tub and lanai, I could have spend the whole vacation right there.The house itself is simply furnished and clean, with a great kitchen that has everything. More than enough room for my husband, adult daughter, myself and our Yorkie. We had lots of fun greeting the egret who arrived every afternoon at the door of the lanai (could former folks have fed him?) and were amazed to see porpoises splashing in the canal right outside. Ft, Myers beach is a wonder and the nearest public access is just a couple of blocks away. We also made our way to Lover's Key for a day, which was just a short ride. Lots of restaurants, entertainment, shopping and "practical" things (groceries, etc.) within a few minutes. For a lovely night out, I highly recommend Charley's (within walking distance). Don't let the unassuming outside fool you. The food is incredible. The house itself has a grill for cooking outdoors, and a range of pool toys and a kayak (check the garage for these). Nice also, to have a washer dryer.
Ok, so on to the not-so-positives. It's clear that the owners are working to upgrade this place. Kitchen, dining and living areas are very nice. The main bathroom, though, was very disappointing. Black mold on the shower walls and around ancient glass doors that don't slide well, making it very hard to keep the floor dry. A little clorox goes a long way and a shower curtain would have been much preferred over the creepy old glass doors. It rained like mad several nights and the ceiling in the dining area leaked like mad. We had to move the table away from the leaking and put towels down to catch the small flood. VRBO got back to us right away when we called about the problem, but the room was unusable for the week. The gorgeous pool also had some issues. Times when the hot tub is usuable are limited to a few hours each evening and the pool itself had algae issues, leaving it unusable for several days while pool treatments were tried.
Luckily, we love the beach and it was right there for the enjoying.

Clean, great location, and beautiful property!
My family and I really enjoyed our time at this home. Went to the beach. Relaxed in the pool. Went fishing on the dock and saw manatee! Walked to dinner and shopping. Home was clean and pool was beautiful!
88° does not a hot tub make, pool had green algae, couldn't use until last 2 days
So we arrive Sunday evening to find the door code wrong and a call to the after hours emergency number gave us the proper code. So use your app or bring your contract so you have access to these numbers. The next morning we went out to find the pool coated in green algae. A call to Vtrips set in action a treatment of the pool, but "Pinch-a-Penny Pool-Patio-Spa" said we could not use the pool until they said, which should be two days later. When we came back on Wednesday to find no note about pool usage, I made another call. Ken, from Vtrips, got back with me directly to try to resolve the issue and the pool was cleared and taken out of maintenance mode on Thursday afternoon. Vtrips was friendly and professional, but the owner controls the pool, literally. There is a remote to control pool/hot tub features, but it only turns on/off the lights and overflow. It will not control heat settings. There is a note on the fridge with a pool/hot tub schedule, but the hot tub never warmed, ever. The water temperature peaked at 88° about 4 pm, then would begin to cool again. I was informed the owner refused to give anyone control of the heating of the pool or hot tub, including the management company. So with a 1.5 days remaining of rental, we had use of a pool that were only warm enough to use about 2-3 hrs a day and a useless hot tub.
The shower door still leaks after being reported in a review 18 months ago. The bathroom needs a major make over, cracked wall tile, peeling caulk, mildew stains, and an outlet that can't be used unless you open the mirrored medicine cabinet. Tile in the kitchen are loose and pop under your feet. The layout for watching TV is just awkward.
Positives are: location, new fridge with two ice makers, a nice grill, fair patio, keyless entry, comfortable beds (but super high and I'm 6'2") the theater next door blocks a fair amount of road noise, lots of white towels (no beach towels), beach wagon, & chairs, radio, blender, laundry in one stall garage, fishing poles, pool toys, tennis racquets, big hot water heater, water pressure, travertine tile in all but kitchen/dining, and the customer service from the management company.
For the price point I assume some maintenance and appearance issues, but we paid for a pool & hot tub we could not use. The fact the owner wants to take my funds and then restrict the usage of these items is unethical. Had I known, I would have rented elsewhere.

This is a “Middle of The Road Property”
The positive things about this property include spatiousness, a well equipped kitchen and a pool area that is screened in. The roof developed a leak at the beginning of our stay. The maintenance supervisor, Jeff, came over and cleaned things up and the owner gave a generous gift card to Charlie’s Boathouse. We appreciate the kindness. Thanks for asking workers not to intrude on the rest of our stay. It was helpful to have a washer and dryer on site. The location of the home on the waterway and near the ocean is convenient and beautiful. We were disappointed that the hot tub heats up on a limited evening schedule by computer with no local way to control it and it never did bubble. The pool is cold; it is not adequately heated for January and VTrips said it could not be changed. The owner sets the pool temperature. We are from Ohio so we came here for the pool and hot tub and it was a disappointment. We also had to ask for a tub mat as my wife slipped and fell in the shower. The bathroom needs remodeled and we were told they would do that in the future. It got warm toward the end of our stay; the owner requires that the air temp not go below 72. It’s not cool enough when it’s hot outside. The contract warns that if you don’t obey this, there will be a penalty.

Very nice and clean home. I stayed for a week with my 3 daughters and we had plenty of room for each of us. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and spent most of our time there. Great location as well. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach and just a short drive to Times Square and shopping. We enjoyed the privacy and the quiet neighborhood. Everything we needed and more
Because it was next door to a movie theater/commercial property, we decided not to stay there.
I am dissatisfied as I was not told that this property is extremely close and next door to a commercial property. In the photo that I saw, only a small portion of this building was visible.

Being located near entertainment, many guests would see this as a perk, but we truly apologize if this was not the case for you.
