I'm looking forward to welcoming you to this lovely home that I co-own with my son. I love the bayside area of Brisbane and am pleased to be able to share it with others. My working life has been mainly in the human services in a range of roles and I currently work as a Mediator on a casual basis. My two adult children are off leading happy and successful lives, and these days I enjoy gardening, spending time with family and friends, camping, bushwalking and meeting new people.
Jennie purchased this Studio in 2015

Wonderful if your immediate neighbours don't have a newborn!
The property itself is very private and self contained. The street is narrow and you have to park out on the road which is fine. The apartment was wonderful, well stocked, clean and like a home away from home. The street and surrounding neighbours were pretty quiet. My only issue is that there is an adjoining studio flat which is only separated by a normal gyprock wall and on this particular stay the people next door had a newborn baby which cried a lot. Luckily I wasn't there much in the day but it cried on and off til about 11.30pm, then again at about 3.30am. I slept comfortably though as I had earplugs and it didn't cry again til about 7.30am. I still felt a bit put out though as the ad had stipulated that people staying here were to respect each other's need for peace and quiet so no loud music or noise. I felt that I had honoured these terms and conditions but the people next door certainly didn't! Other than that it was a great place to stay!
I really appreciate your thoughtful and honest review Tracey. Since you checked out, I discovered that one of the sound-reducing doors that we have installed between the two units was not closed properly, so you would have experienced the full new born crying experience! I do apologise. We've been working hard to do what we can to reduce the amount of noise that travels between the two units, but unfortunately I wasn't aware that the other guests had left one of the doors ajar.
Hopefully things will be better for future guests, and for you, if you choose to stay again.
Excellent stay in Brisbane
Jennie's apartment was superb, with evry comfort and convenient cooking facilities. It was in a quiet location, but quite close to shops, beaches etc. Certainly preferable to an overpriced motel in a noisy city!
Great place to stay!
Quiet neighbourhood but super convenient to East Brisbane area, especially the port. Very clean room with everything you could need.
The studio was the perfect size for my daughter and I. It was lovely.
A weekend end away
All the convenience of home, very clean, tidy and comfortable.
I would request to stay again when visiting Brisbane again.
Great location, perfect for my needs, clean, quiet and a pleasant decor.
I had a very enjoyable stay at Jennie's studio apartment. The location was excellent - around 30 minutes from Brisbane, lots of facilities near by and in a quiet street.
Jennie was also very prompt replying to any correspondence; I found I needed to extend my stay by one day which was organised quickly and without drama.
The studio looks to be a converted garage but was bright, air-conditioned and had plenty of kitchen/cooking appliances provided. There are also lots of takeaway options within a 5-10 minute drive if you don't feel like cooking and the Wynnym Plaza (which has a Woolworths, a Coles and a tavern) is also close by.
As Jennie mentions, the driveway is very steep but I had no problems with it and was able to park my hire car on the road out front without any issues.
I will be back in six months when my son returns from his deployment and plan to stay here again.
Wynnum is a tranquil family-friendly bayside suburb that boasts great facilities for fishing, sailing/boating, walking, cycling, & kayaking. It has a growing number of interesting little cafes & boutique shops springing up in the central shopping centre, as well as along the Esplanade. It's also a popular spot for op shopping! Of course, fish & chip shops abound!
Close by is a Wynnum Plaza which has Woolworths, Coles, KMart and a range of other shops, including a laundromat. Walk to the Wynnum Golf Course!
Wynnum is far enough away from the city to provide all the leisurely benefits of a beachside village, yet close enough (40 minute train ride) to easily enjoy a day out at Southbank or the centre of town.
If you don't have your own vehicle, it's a short walk to bus stops, and a longer walk (about half an hour) to the train station. I am happy to drive guests to the train station if I am available when you wish to travel. A five to ten minute walk will take you to a bus stop for the Wynnum/Manly Loop route which stops at all the train stations.
It is a five minute drive to access the Gateway Motorway which will take you South to the Gold Coast, or North to the Sunshine Coast. The airport is a 10 minute drive away using the Gateway Motorway.
