House, 6 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 15)
This ocean front beach home is a true classic. The wrap around porch is so inviting that many don't stray far away from it. It has 8 rocking chairs, a Pawley's Island hammock, and a table and chairs that are perfect for a little breakfast or many other uses. The beach is only steps away so that you can walk, play, swim or sun any time of the day.
If you do happen to get a bit sandy, there are two porch showers out back to use before you get into the house, right beside the washer, dryer, and extra refrigerator.
The spacious living area with sofas and large dining table allows plenty of room for watching the big screen TV, playing games or puzzles, just relaxing, or, of course, dining.
The bedrooms are configured as follows:
There is a Master bedroom downstairs with a Queen bed and private bath, and five bedrooms upstairs with another bath. The third bath is in the hallway downstairs.
Upstairs, there are two ocean-front bedrooms. One has a queen size bed in it. The other has a double and a twin.
Next to the queen is an attached room that has two twins.
Next to that is an attached room that has a queen.
Across the hall (next to the double and twin ocean-front, but not attached), is a room that has two doubles in it.
Then behind that room is the bathroom.
As I mentioned earlier, there are two porch showers, and that is also where the washer and dryer and a second refrigerator are.
There are also some beach chairs, etc. out there.
The kitchen is fully equipped from coffee pot to utensils.
We also have a notebook on a shelf near the dining table with different restaurant menus of some of our favorites if you may not feel like cooking:).
Relax with the tranquility of the ocean while you rock on the porch, and watch the sunset turn into a glory of stars or see a beautiful sunrise while in the hammock or a rocking chair. Either way, your troubles will be washed away at our home away from home.
Keywords: Traditional two story ocean front home with large wrap around rocking chair porch with hammock. Six bedrooms, three baths with two porch showers. Wahsher/ dryer.

About the Owner
Hi, my name is Libby, and my sister, Nell, and I own this home which has been in our family since 1962. I have been married since 1980, have two grown children, one granddaughter, and two dogs. I mostly do volunteer work these days... delivering Meals on Wheels, tutoring kids at a community center, and working with senior citizens at the same center. I love my volunteer work - I get so much back in personal rewards than I could possibly give.

Love this place.
We have been going to this house for 22 years. Wonderful location. New great mattresses. Slept so good. We just wish there was another bathroom upstairs but we have learned to manage. The owners are very nice people too. Love this place !!!
Wonderful option for a girls' weekend!
We had a group of 13 girlfriends get together for a fun weekend at the beach -- this house exceeded our expectations! It is perfect for a large group as the common areas are very open and able to accommodate everyone. We loved that the upstairs bedrooms were all connected and had so many bed options! The porch was the best part, and you can't beat the fact that the house is beachfront. Although it is adjacent to a public beach access, it felt very private.
The only downside is that you need to plan to bring essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, etc. etc...not a big deal just something to plan for.
We've spent a wonderful week at this great house. We were three families with all together 10 children - Ages 16 down to 4. We all had a great time! The ladies enjoyed reading a book on the porch with the ocean wind in their hair. The Kids played corn bag on the nicely kept lawn, they were able to go to the beach whenever, eat whenever, rest whenever. The big Boys enjoyed lots of M.B. entertainment such as deep sea fishing, shooting range, fine Foods. In the evenings the front porch turned into a theater: watching thunderstorms roar over the ocean from the secure shelter was one of my personal favorites of the week.
This house reminded me much of my Grandma’s place – because it was decorated with love but still in a practical way. We found everything we needed. Basically we just felt like home away from home!
We definitely hope to go there once again!
May, 2014, another great week at Myrtle Beach. This is our 12th straight year but we are still considered rookies as time goes. Our friends that we meet each year have been coming to Libby's for 25 plus years.
In the mornings our group of fourteen seniors arise over a period of approximately two to three hours and migrate to the rockers on the front porch with coffee in hand. Us early birds get the worm, or I should say, the most beautiful orange sun rise on the east coast. The ocean is at its smoothest, the sun's rays turn to diamonds, and this is usually the time of the day that you can see the dolphins playing just beyond the breakers on the beach. The breeze coming off the ocean is gentle and cool, the sand is cool, and it's the perfect time for that hand-in-hand, reminiscent barefoot walk down the beach.
In addition to the rockers, the front porch also has a permanent hammock plus our group brings four other hammocks. Throughout the day people love to lie in the hammocks and read. Although, I have never understood how a person reads a book with it lying open on their chest and with their eyes closed. I guess it's just one of those things you can do at the beach.
This is still May and already looking forward to next year.......
Grandpa, Gobbi and family
Our family had the pleasure of staying here at the Golden Mile. What a treat .... The home away from home met all our needs plus ! We all especially enjoyed the beautiful porch over looking the ocean. We each claimed our rocking chairs, and I for one could be found in mine while having my early morning coffee watching the dolphins perform "just for me" steps away in the ocean. We got to celebrate our son's 40th birthday while there. How lovely it was to have our lasagna dinner around the big dining table there. We found the location to be perfect for all the many restaurants and attractions. On our 2nd day there, the kids were asking if we were going to do it again next year! Yes, we are in fact, and I for one can't wait! Thanks Libby for sharing your lovely home and letting it be ours for a week. We had a blast, and summer 2013 can't get here fast enough!
"Our House for a week in Myrtle Beach, SC"
Can 3 generations enjoy a week together and request to do it again and again? Our family has off and on since 1996 in this "our house for a week" in Myrtle Beach. From the time grandkids were small, needing constant watching to grown and college grads - from 11 to 15 of us each time, we have treasured coming together at this house. Early on our walking little ones to and from the beach without crossing streets or carrying stuff a long distance was wonderful. Memories are of gathering for meals at the large dining table to puzzles, games and birthday parties. Also one or all on the wrap around porch in rockers and on the floor reading, laughing, watching the sunrise (only a few of us), and together watching as afternoon showers came across the ocean. We even had porch morning exercises for the school sports participants before they ran on the beach.
There is much to do in Myrtle Beach from golf, waterparks, shopping, theatres, restaurants, parasailing, and a wonderful clean beach away from hotel crowds.
Our family has over the years gone from plastic pails, sandcastles and fortresses to buggie boards, competition, beach volleyball, reading under the umbrellas, and still building sand castles. We all drive from Texas and we have our reservations in for 2012. We can hardly wait!
From the Owner
“My sister and I grew up going to this wonderful house since we were knee-high. Our grandfather left it to us and we have been taking care of it ever since. It is truly a unique home with a true Southern style and open living area. And, of course, the porch has always been my favorite place to be, as I choose a rocking chair, some cold lemonade, and a good book. Sometimes the book gets ignored because of the beauty of the ocean, the sea gulls, and the possible dolphins!”

From the Owner
“Our home is located in the middle of an area known as "The Golden Mile" which is strictly residential single family homes. Therefore, it tends to be more quiet and less crowded than the condo or hotel areas. Due to respect for our neighbors, we do not allow motorcycles on our property. I particularly love the porch with the rocking chairs. I take a book and enjoy reading and watching the ocean and the people. It is so peaceful and calming there. Since we prefer not to cook too much while we are there (although we do have all of the equipment, etc.), we have our favorite restaurants where we like to go. We thought you might like to have some ideas as to where to go, so we put together a book with menus from some of our favorites. This is located on a shelf by the dining table.”
