About Phil Wood
We are both originally from the UK, no kids but we have 2 doggies, which explains why the garden is dog safe and we welcome doggies as guests at no extra cost.
Phil Wood purchased this House in 2007
Why Phil Wood chose Crystal Beach
We love this area of Vermont, it combines being not too far from Stamford where we live, its near(ish) for skiing, has a local airport (I fly) and there is the largest lake in Vermont (fully enclosed) .. the lake is frozen in winter, there's a beach which is great for kids in summer.
What makes this House unique
This house is our home and its your home while you are here. We make sure its well stocked with usual household staples, paper goods for bathroom and kitchen, washer dryer supplies, bedding in all combinations, lots of towels and a fully stocked kitchen that makes cooking in easy. We make sure that the staples such as condiments, butter, oil etc are always here so you don't need to bring those. We love doggies, the garden is dog safe so this is a vacation for ALL the members of your family.

A perfect place to stay
This house was the best we could ask for. Perfect for our family trip. The house was stocked with everything we would need in the kitchen and was very clean. The owner Phil was very friendly with all the info I would need. Definitely would stay here next time I visit Vermont!
Great for day tripping
Cozy home with rustic flair. Owner has provided just about every kitchen item one might need to prepare your own meals with your own food. Village store/winery in Castleton on 4A heading east or Dollar General on 4A heading west have any sundries forgotten. Ample room for a family to enjoy room around the table or watch TV in the living room. Comfortable bedding. Master bedroom with next door bathroom on first floor. Laundry room available on second floor with two more bedrooms and another full bathroom. First step going up (or last step coming down) is a little bit taller than the rest--be careful. Home is off the main road and quiet, but close to roads that take one to all corners of the state. It was great to take the time to stop at the many general stores and historic sites along the way. For fall, a couple of restaurants remain open for dinner on Highway 30, south of the house, fairly close. Breakfast means going slightly farther south past Highway 4, or into Castleton, all within 15-25 minutes. Dog friendly home. Outside patio has seating and fire pit. Beach is closed for the season, but still open for viewing pleasure. Though within walking distance, take car as curves on road make hikers hard to see. Lake is beautiful. Some play equipment still available at the park. House was just what we needed as a base of operations for our daily sightseeing trips. Owner easily reached. Great stay.
