About the Owner

My name is Laurie.

I am an author, artist, muscian and mom.

The log cabin is my get-away where I write my books and movies. Its my refuge, my home away from home and my heart.

As a child, I saved a scrapbook of pictures of my dream home...

and the first moment I saw our cabin, I knew this was IT!

The smell of pines and being a minute stroll to the beach is my favorite part of being in Tahoe.

My desire is to share a yesteryear, nostalgic, homestead restored with all the fascinations of modern comfort without compromising its ambiance has come true. The hand-made, authentic, cozy log cabin duplex, boasts of spaciousness, yet intimate for two which meets my needs for alone time to create and family time to build memories. I have been coming to this log cabin for over 20 years and it still holds me captive with it's beauty.

Dreamt and believed all my life that someday I would live in a log cabin up in the mountains on a lake. Dream came realized more than vividly true, I feel BLISSFUL! :)))

Having fun at Lake Tahoe!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was as nice as advertised! Two blocks from the beach and just minutes drive away from everything you need or want to do. I highly recommend going to Tahoe and staying at this cabin!

Warm and Cozy log cabin

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the stay. The layout of the house was perfect. The furniture was perfect for the log cabin feel and had unique touches to it. This cabin had all the stainless steel utensils, gas stove and other amenities which are fairly new. The refrigerator and microwave are all fairly new. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives and I myself would stay again at this place with friends. This time we were only three people in the #2 unit and we ended up using only one bedroom. The activities, attractions and restaurants are close by. We really liked red hut café restaurant. My thai restaurant, Artemis restaurant and Zephyr Cove restaurant was also good. The minor cons we had during the stay - wifi connectivity was almost non-existent (we did not mind that much). The pillows were too soft for us. Shower cap was not present (maybe the listing could clarify shower cap information more clearly).

Cozy!

  • 4 of 5

We came up for a girls' weekend and had a lovely time! The cabin is very cute, plenty of seating and cozy chairs, recliners, ottomans, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathrooms were nicely updated.

Our only small issue (why there is not five stars) was the softness of the beds and pillows. One of us ended up having to go buy a pillow the next day at TJ Maxx. The mattresses were just not 100% comfortable.

Other than that, everything was wonderful and anything one could possibly needs was there!

AMAZING!

  • 4 of 5

We spent 10 glorious days at Laurie's home. It actually far surpassed all of our expectations. The open floor plan was great for our large family. We loved the stove and griddle combo, as my brothers and I are all passionate cooks. The TV had a few issues but before we left, Laurie had a new TV installed. Talk about a great experience and superb customer service. Jeff was a great asset to your property. He was friendly and helpful with any and all questions. The only downside was the lighting in the home is a bit dim. I worked while visiting and the internet connection was spotty as well. But other than that, the location was amazing. Two blocks from the lake. The home is beautiful and well maintained and the ease of transactions and requests were immediate. Even the neighbors were friendly. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to South Lake Tahoe. Thank you for allowing us to share your home. Thank you for the care and pride you put into your property. It was one of our best experiences with VRBO.

With sincere thanks,

Tammy and Mike Ford and Michael Pacheco.

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best Christmas my girlfriend and I have ever had. The cabin was beautiful and in a perfect location. With modern appliances and more room than we could need, yet keeping that homey rustic style. We loved the wood stove and all the wood. We will defiantly be back and have already recommended to many others.

Location

From the Owner

It is everything I dreamt of. An authentic, home-made mountain cabin in the pines... a few steps from the sandy beach, yet near enough to the city and all its activities, that I can be away from the noise and hustle and bustle, but skiing, shopping, gambling within 5 minutes. Hand-made of the most beautiful trees from Canada. Original owner owned the original Tahoe wood mill, and hand made all the panneling, roof, doors and details. It took 5 years to build, while a whole subdivision in the neighborhood was built. The quality and uniqueness of everything about this cabin is beyond my wildest imagination. I feel swept up in a fairytale everytime I stay, and am sad to leave... and can't wait to get back!
