Why Gerald chose Sarlat-la-Caneda Historic Center
I have bought this apartement by favorite because it is an illustration of this great city, historic, authentic, and very charming. I myself am originally from the Périgord. I feel at home as soon as I cross the ramparts.
What makes this Apartment unique
You entry in a quiet and lighted apartement. It tells you his story while bringing you comfort. His chimney of 2 meters will leave to your imagination the bourgeoisie evenings in front of an open fire, his exposed cut stones plunge you in a long way back, his mullioned windows remind you that it is of the same calibre of the castles around, his parquet flooring and woodwork tell you that it wants to keep his authenticity.

Perfectly situated apartment in the beautiful medieval village of Sarlat
We had a very enjoyable 2 week stay in this lovely apartment. The views from the living room window are superb. Facilities are great. It’s very close to everything you could need. Fast wifi. Sarlat is a wonderful base from which to explore the whole region and this apartment was a very comfortable place from which to do so. Note, the apartment is on the second floor and is accessible by stairs only (because it’s in a beautiful old building!)
Very well located
It was clean and roomy. Very nice to have a place to microwave some dinners and take a break from restaurant fare. For out of country visitors the parking situation can be a little nerve wracking but it all worked out.
Two minutes walk from the heart of the town - set amid cobbled streets with a view over medieval rooftops to die for.
Thank you John, it Will be a pleasure to receive you again. Sincerely
Spacious and central
We loved this great apartment. It had its downside (no oven, furniture and furnishings a bit tired) but it had a comfortable bed and a nice hot shower and its fabulous character shone through.
Thank you Dale for your comment.
Concerning the furnitures and furnishings, as they are news, therefore I conclude that you probably speak about TV which is the only thing not recent but works perfectly. I have not planned to change it regarding environnement (throw a thing that works) and the few time passed in front of the tv vs the great views to discover in the area.
Thank you Dale.
Lovely and with a view!
Everything worked, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a beautiful view over the town- which, while it was probably in the listing, came as a pleasant surprise. We managed to communicate with the lovely Maxine, who put up with a lot of faffing on our part, despite our complete lack of french. It was a privilege to stay here.
Thank you Sophie, with pleasure to receive you again. Kind regards
So Worth It
What a fabulous apartment. It is spacious, spotless, lovely views and perfectly located and equipped with all you would need in an apartment and kitchen. It is located steps away from a wonderful little grocery store for your food staples and the markets for your fresh fruits, breads, pates... all the edible delights France is known for.
There is ample space for your belongings and, although the description does not
say, there is a hand held shower head with the wall attachment. The fact that only a bath was listed was almost a deal breaker so imagine my utter delight when I saw the shower head. Water temperature was whatever we wanted when we wanted. The washing machine was very useful and we used the heated towel rack as a dryer. It really worked.
We were there in late November early December (10 days) cold weather is no problem at all because the apartment has individually operated, built in heaters throughout so we were always comfortable awake or asleep.
The stairs to the apartment are a regular width and an easy climb.
I honestly have nothing negative I can say. This is a bright, airy, contemporary
apartment in a medieval setting that is well taken care of and well worth the price.
Mr. Gerald is a gracious gentleman whom I mercilessly tested with a barrage of questions before booking which he answered promptly with kindness and patience.
He encouraged me to ask anything I needed to in order to feel secure in our choice.
And, once in Sarlat his contact there as well as he himself are a quick call or text away.
After fun filled days exploring all the beautiful surrounding towns it was a pleasure
coming "home" to our apartment and preparing for our next adventure.
Thank you Mr. Gerald.
Many thanks Magaly for this kindly and exhaustive comment.
I'm going to update the appartment description with the shower head.
Thank you for this feed-back, It is precious information for me in order to continue to improve my rental and that anybody could enjoy great moments.
It was a real pleasure for me to receive you.
Thank you again Magali
