Completely renovated in 2008 and newly furnished, this unique two-level unit is part of a historic triplex in the desirable West Beach area. Your doorway is just 1-1/2-blocks from the sands and volleyball courts on West Beach near Stearn’s Wharf, and easy walking distance to downtown State St. shops and restaurants. Also very close is the Amtrak station; no need for a car at all if arriving by train!

The main-floor Living Room has a top-quality queen pull-out sofabed by AU for additional quests, and a 32' flat-screen HD-TV with HD-DirecTV and DVD-player. The small galley kitchen has a full fridge and stove/oven with granite counters, and is outfitted with microwave, coffee-maker, NutriBullet blender, toaster and cookware/dishware. French-doors off the living area lead to a spacious, private outdoor deck area beside Mission Creek with patio table/chairs. Lots of birdlife.

Upstairs the sunny bedroom has a plush-top queen-size bed with down duvet & pillows, top-quality large dresser, desk and vanity, with whirlpool tub and shower in a white-tiled bathroom. Exotic walnut floors extend throughout. WiFi internet coverage is free.

Bicycle(s) are available for shared use. Laundry facilities are on-site. Non-smokers only please.

We are new residents of Santa Barbara, having recently moved from the Sacramento area and Canada before that. We had occupied the front main unit of this beautiful tri-plex by the beach until late-2013, and we oversee the property ourselves, including a unique rooftop aeroponic garden. Health-conscious and fitness oriented, our family enjoys beach volleyball, bicycling and running right here in West Beach with its nearby amenities.

Great location, wonderful accommodations

We stayed for a few nights and it was perfect for what we needed as a couple in town for a wedding. We were close to the beach, to restaurants, local attractions and parking was easy to find. We just had to avoid some street parking timing issues and fortunately, we are not light sleepers so the nearby train station did not bother us, noise wise. The bed was super comfy and everything was clean and as described. No surprises here and Sandy was a pleasure to arrange the stay with. If we every make it back to SB, we know where we're staying!

Great Location in Santa Barbara!!

Location could not have been more perfect. Proximity to State Street and the beach were perfect for us. Walking every morning was how we started our day. We cooked in a couple of evenings and the kitchen was well equipped and had just about everything we needed. Sandy provided a great folder informing us about the area and we definitely put it to good use. We did have a small plumbing issue on our first day there but Sandy was very responsive and had the issue resolved almost immediately. No complaints!!! Washer and dryer was a plus!!!! We look forward to future stays at Chapala Gardens.

New Years 2016 at Chapala Gardens

My husband and I were thrilled with everything about our stay at Chapala Gardens. Parking was easy and we didn't need to get in our car until it was time to leave. We arrived to a beautiful, bright, clean apartment with these amazing herons sleeping in the tree by our deck, overlooking Mission Creek. Sandy later explained that the birds were black crowned night herons. We loved watching them and the other birds from our back windows. Our stay was over New Years Eve, and the neighborhood and the apartment was very peaceful. We road our bikes everyday and it was easy getting around town and to the different bike routes. When we weren't on our bikes, we were walking to Brophy Brothers or up State Street for dinner. Next time we would like to take Amtrak down since the train station is so close. The kitchen had everything we needed, too. We can't imagine a better location in Santa Barbara. Thank you, Sandy - we will be back.

Perfect spot !

We loved our stay here in Santa Barbara. Looks just like the pictures. So convenient to the waterfront and State Street and the Funk Zone. Having the bikes was a bonus ! The kitchen provided everything we might need but with so many great restaurants near by we didn't use. Would definitely recommend for a couple wanting to enjoy the area.

GREAT LOCATION!!! My 11 yr old son and I stayed here and just Loved It!! Great Location and so close to the Beach. You can certainly get by without a car, there are 2 bikes available for use. Tons of shopping and Great restaurants on State St. If you are looking for good Surf, then Carpinteria is just 15/20 min South. Rooftop Garden is Awesome! Super Relaxing and it has everything you would need. Insanely comfortable bed, as well. We will definitively be back. Thank you Sandy!!

Wonderful...just as advertised
