Relaxing one bedroom cabin on an 100 acre mountainside homestead.
About Sarah Muse
Welcome to The Cabin at 'n o o n'! I am a professional jeweler/designer/metalsmith and live/work with my writer husband extraordinaire, sports enthusiast son, sweet dog, silly cats and funny chickens on our beautiful 100 acre mountainside homestead, which is protected by the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy. We are very active, creative people dedicated to our family, friends, arts & cultural community, and sustainable living. We want you to feel welcome and enjoy your stay!
Sarah Muse purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Sarah Muse chose Roanoke
We believe and have been told by family, friends and guests that there is something special here on our hundred acre wood. It is a feeling that one gets as soon as they cross the country moat.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Cabin at 'n o o n' is located on 100 private acres with hiking trails and creeks. You will have privacy and feel isolated from the rest of the world even though it is only a 20 minute drive to the center of downtown Roanoke. When you enter the property you will drive through a small creek or "country moat", your tires will get wet, and crossing the 'moat' adds to the sense of security and mystique. The view of Mason's Knob, the highest visible mountain, looks like a volcano from the Cabin and watching the stars in the sky is spectacular.

Cozy, Quiet, Comfortable!
My wife and I used this great cabin as our "home base" while exploring the area of Roanoke. This cabin is bigger than the photos show, and it has wonderfully comfortable beds, good towels and linens, and a well-stocked kitchen - these things reflect the caring attitude that the owner's obviously hold towards their guests.
The owners live on the property, just below the cottage, and are very accommodating and friendly - never intrusive, and very quiet, you don't really notice their home from where you sit.
Getting into and out of the property involves a steep slope downwards/upwards, be forewarned that if you have a low-sitting sedan, you need to drive carefully - heading up, and out to the street, we had to be sure to keep some momentum or risk getting stuck at the top in the gravel just before the paved road begins. Not a negative but something to be aware of.
My wife and I certainly enjoyed our stay and are already considering using this site again when we return to the area to enjoy more biking and hiking.

Cozy place with beautiful views.
Delightful experience, Sara and Chris were great. Cabin is nice and property around it is beautiful.
Nice and quiet
Excellent quiet and private location. We need to come back!
Great relaxing spot
The place was tucked in the forest, a lot of trails you can take and you can sit by the fire at night! The view is amazing. The property is as described and the owner was super welcoming and good communications!
Rest and Relaxation
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin at noon. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Close to everything but once on the mountian you feel a million miles away. We had hoped to hike through the woods but the paths were buggy (thanks to humid days and some rain) also the paths were mostly tall grass. We especially loved our ride through the property with Chris on the Polaris!!! Sarah and Chris were gracious hosts!
