Why visit Orosi? The Orosi Valley is a landscape of topical hues. The rainforest of Tapanti and the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest paint a background of various shades of green, teeming with wildlife. Every turn of the road provides a new diversity of colors and terrain. Located south of Cartago, the Orosi Valley is a true jewel. Famous for its beautiful views, colonial churches, coffee farms, white water rivers, hot springs and Lake Cachí, the Orosi Valley and surrounding towns are like a birthday present, waiting to be opened. The small quaint villages offer a unique location where you can relax and enjoy a real slice of Costa Rican life. During coffee picking season, September through January, the valley comes to life. The pickers can be heard singing and talking in the fields as they pick the worlds best coffee.

It is easy to book activities such as: guided local tours, mountain biking, horse back riding, hiking, water rafting, and other interesting activities to keep active during the day. For detailed information on local tours, visit our web site.

Orosi Valley Self Guided Tours

The Orosi Valley and surrounding areas have many different tours, which can take up to a week to see all of the local attractions. Of the top 20 things to do in Costa Rica, four are in or near the Orosi Valley, numbers six, seven, eight and nine.

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

Nancy and Steve are the most wonderful people that we met in our life. It was our first time traveling to Costa Rica, Nancy and Steve were very helpful with showing us around and giving us information about Orosi Valley. Nancy did a fantastic job with her beautiful garden, we felt like we were in paradise! Steve's pastries were delicious! And of course their wonderful and sweet dogs, Lola, Maggie, Sophie, Stella and Sadie which we immediately fell in love with! Thank you very much for an amazing hospitality. We highly recommend their romantic garden villa!!!

Paradise Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We can't sing enough praise about the time we spent at Steve and Nancy's villa. Nancy greeted us with Oscar to assist with our luggage while Steve was away visiting family. The villa is the perfect size, very comfortable and everything needed to prepare meals if you choose to stay in. We loved to sit on the deck and watch the variety of birds that adorn the garden and trees. Nancy has the most beautiful gardens with meandering paths that seem to go on forever. It is truly a magical place with stunning mountain views. Thank you Nancy, for taking us to the Paraiso market, Christina's coffee farm, your beautiful lots with the fantastic views, the pharmacy, and so much more. Thank you Steve, for the wonderful bread you baked for us upon your return. And thank you both for the sharing your wonderful stories about your travels and Costa Rica with us. We will be back!! Oh, I can't forget your beautiful Rotties. We so loved it when they would come sit with us on the veranda. Such sweeties they all are. Thank you again for making our stay in the Orosi Valley the PERFECT stay. Hope to see you soon. Gary and Sherry

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent our 5 year Anniversary at the villa. It was everything we'd hoped for and more. Steve and Nancy are the most lovely and gracious hosts, from fresh baked breads, to letting us tag along to the farmers market and showing us around the valley. We enjoyed simply sitting and having conversations. The gardens are spectacular, and the dogs are always up to accompany you on a walk. They are a great group of fur friends. Our favorite was Sophie, but they all won a special place in our hearts.

The Orosi Valley is truly paradise. The local Costa Rican's were all welcoming and friendly, and the overall vibe of the area is a positive one.

We will be back!! ~Kristen and Walter~

An absolute paradise

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't sing high enough praise about this place. Everything from the surrounding gardens, the small mountain valley towns, the coffee plantations, the owners, the garden villa, right down to the outdoor jacuzzi was absolute perfection. The villa is a beautifully constructed masterpiece of some of the local artisans. The owners have left no detail unattended and you can just sit back, relax and enjoy all the work they have put into this space. I got lost in the gardens and loved it. Costa Rica has such a rich biodiversity and you don't even have to leave the property to experience it. The view merits hours on hours of staring. Watch clouds flow over and through them, birds fly around them and the sun set on them. Seriously, this place is paradise and I haven't even touch the great dining locations, hiking trails and of course, the amazing hosts and their amazing spiced rum! Just stop looking at places and book this place now.

Incredible beauty ....remarkable villa

  • 5 of 5

Staying in the villa at Paradise Peak in the Orosi Valley was truly an experience of "being home away from home". The lumbering mountains of Orosi Valley, the clouds, the roaring river, flocks of gorgeous birds....and at the villa site itself....flowering plants and orchids galore, hiking paths, and a plethora of native plants was truly a perfect Costa Rica experience.

Our hosts, Steve and Nancy, welcomed us wholeheartedly. Steve helped with our minimal luggage and led us to our "home away from home". First glance was an inviting outdoor living space ....just beautiful!.....including a most awesome vista. Entering the villa took my breath away. The kitchen, inviting bedroom, charming stairway to the loft and second outdoor porch was more than I had expected. The kitchen was abundantly stocked, the linens were the best, artwork was spectacular, and our hosts gave us privacy even though, when we had a question or two, they always were there with a smile or helping hand. My husband said he wouldn't give a 5 star....he would give a 10!!!!!!!
