About the Owner

I built this house in 2006 as a residence so there is lots of closet and storage space that you don't usually find in a typical beach house. We live about a block from this house from September thru May. We have two dogs and they travel with us in the summer.

AWESOME HOUSE

  • 4 of 5

WE very much enjoyed our stay at this very clean, newer construction home. It was very spacious, had pretty much everything we needed. I would highly recommend this house to anyone travelling with a larger group, the decks are great for hanging and the bedrooms are all very spacious. The open floor plan of the kitchen and living room was a BIG bonus!

The north beach is not as good of water and sand as the beaches of the south end, but on a holiday weekend we were thankful for the more quiet areas walkable from the house. Beware the broken shells in the water, they do CUT! We wore flip flops in the water of the north beach.

Rent this house, you'll be very happy!

Lovely house. Great for multiple families

  • 5 of 5

This place is clean and very nice. Great for multiple families to stay in the same house. We had four young children and the calm waters on North beach were perfect for them. Would definitely stay there again.

Great for a family vacation!

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at this property. Plenty of room for our family (my wife and I, daughter and son-in-law and four more grown children.) It was also great we could have our two dogs there as well. There is a short walk to a smaller private beach or short ride to two other public beaches. Loved the island and trips to nearby Savannah. The house is well maintained and in excellent condition. We enjoyed the gas grill for preparing meals and the washer/dryer was great to have too. The elevator was helpful to get our luggage up and down to the 2nd and 3rd floors. A few low maintenance items needed to be done (light bulb and wall outlet covers replaced) which the owner has committed to do. Also the loft on the 4th floor where one of our family slept stayed pretty warm at night due to not having any blinds or shades on the windows. Overall we really enjoyed our time!

Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

This Home is so wonderful. The accommodations for my family were just great. The elevator made my mom feel apart of everything going on because she could reach every floor where we all were. The different levels provided fun time or quiet time if needed. The decks also gave the readers a place to be while the conversations were on another deck. We were in the middle of beach access and shops and food. All within walking distance, especially for mom. Everything worked in the home. We had no complaints at all. Can't THANK the owners enough for the stay.

Thank you ,

Eva L

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

Eight adult family members had a great gathering in this house. The inside was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with no signs of insects. We enjoyed spending time together in the huge kitchen/great room area. Although we did not need/use the loft area (in part because it was much hotter than the rest of the house when the outside temperatures were in the 90s), the space now is furnished with two twin beds and likely would be a popular spot with younger guests during milder weather. Access to the block-long beach boardwalks is about a block away, with no busy streets to cross. The water is a bay rather than the open ocean, so waves were minimal , but the fact that the beach area was quiet and sparsely populated was a big plus when compared to the packed beaches further south on the island. While this beach isn't the best for swimming, we found it was great for walking. (As other reviewers noted, we found it best to wear sandals because of the sharp shells.) While walking several miles each morning and evening, we saw numerous dolphins, horseshoe crabs, and other critters. Another walker told us that at this time of year (early to mid June), manatees come to a certain area near the beach very early in the mornings (look for the double poles in the water), but we weren't lucky enough to see them. The owner was very responsive when we contacted him, and overall we were quite pleased with our experience. Guests might want to bring bath soap and hangers.

This property is beautiful but lacks maintenance

  • 3 of 5

My family arrived for our three night stay in June to find a home that was a bit grimey and in need of extermination. We had to scrub the bathrooms and sweep up dead roaches. We shared our concerns with the owner and his cleaning crew arrived and did nothing. We repeated concerns after observing live roaches and were promised and exterminator we never saw. The exterior of the house and outside furniture was in need of serious power washing. Once the house was cleaned, we enjoyed our stay, however, we did not feel completely at ease. This is all a shame since this house has great bones, lots of space and a airy feel.
