OCEANFRONT Rodanthe - Ocean Dr. KAI SURF HOUSE is inviting you to the beach! Come visit this lovely beach house located directly on the beach and just a short walk to the Rodanthe Fishing Pier.

You can't get much closer to the beach than this! Comfortably furnished for your group in appealing beach decor, KAI SURF HOUSE provides a king master bedroom with private bath, a bedroom with king bed and direct access to a semi-private bathroom shared with a queen bedroom and a bedroom with pyramid bunk with trundle bed and single bed. The laundry is conveniently located on this level as well as a deck with a bubbly 6 person hot tub.

The top level of the home features the great room with 2 leather sofas, high vaulted ceilings and two sliders leading out to the oceanfront deck, through which you can watch the water from inside.

After the sun goes down, relax in front of the 55" flat screen TV and DVD player to enjoy a movie. A few steps up is a cozy nook with 2 futons and a foosball coffee table. The kitchen offers a breakfast bar for conversation during meal-prep and is just a few steps away from the dining area. Out on the deck, step up one more level to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the island.

KAI SURF HOUSE has a lot to offer and eagerly awaits your reservation.

Dogs are welcome for a fee of $200/dog/week.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the $200 weekly fee will apply for each dog and will be added once your reservation is finalized.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-refundable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

The A/C units did not work for the majority of our stay and the grill was also not functioning.
A/C on this property was not functioning for the majority of our visit. One of the screen doors was missing and several window screens were missing as well so it was difficult to open the house up for airflow due to the bugs and mosquitoes coming into the house. We also could not get the grill to work...which was a challenge because of the few number of restaurants open. I had brought a lot of food with us to grill and didn’t have that option.

This property needs some attention from both homeowners and property management company!
Although this house is beautifully situated we were disappointed in the amenities. It was not clean, the floors still had dog hair on them. Someone had tore off the towel rack in the master bath and it was just left hanging there! The shower door leaked so everyday we had to mop water with a towel since there was no mop. In the kitchen there were AT LEAST 20 pots and pans in several of the cupboards (one cupboard full would have been sufficient), which many of them were the cheap teflon coated pans that should be thrown out a long time ago because they were all peeling. We realize that renters don't always put things back where they should go but shouldn't the homeowners and cleaning crew take a look at the overall condition of the home once in a while? This also made it hard for us to put our groceries away, there simply wasn't room. There is an outdoor shower which is a great idea if it works but there was a broken spigot on it. The floor of the shower was ankle deep in sand and since the cleaning crew had just left it shouldn't have looked like that. Under the house there is what we thought was a carport to be able to get your car out of the sun and also to provide more parking behind you for other cars. It was so full of sand that it was unusable. When we inquired about it we were told that it wasn't a carport, however many of the neighboring properties had similar setups and cars were parked underneath, hum.... Two of the comforters were torn and I wonder when was the last time they were washed. We own VRBO's and have stayed at several. This home was completely stripped of all household items, ie., paper towels, toilet paper (and there are 3 bathrooms!) etc.Again we realize that some of those items are things that we had to supply ourselves, but since many quests cannot take some of these things home with them they should have still been there. (I'm sure the cleaning crew takes it all). There wasn't even a kitchen towel! In my opinion you should only have to bring your clothing and food. It makes it for a very expensive week! This was the most disappointing one we've stayed at, and it is a lack of the management company (they have too many to take care of) as well as the owners. What we learned is: Rent directly from an owner, they have pride of ownership. Property managers don't care.
