Hesperia is on the High Desert
Over on the far side of the San Bernardino Mountains, the city of Hesperia sits up on the sun-scorched High Desert of the Mojave, where the sunsets glow pinkish-red and the old trails of Route 66 sprout weeds between the bluffs. Most Hesperia vacation rentals pepper the peaks just to the south of town though, offering roaring wood fires, bubbling hot tubs, decks, and country lodge architecture in the shadow of the rugged San Bernardino peaks and their ski fields. It's a fine destination for outdoorsy types who want just a taste of local Californian life.
Hesperia is packed with parks and peaks
If you've bagged one of the Hesperia vacation rentals on the south side of town, then it's likely you'll find yourself within walking distance of the Hesperia Lake Park. This all-in-one fishing and recreation spot is awash with local festivals and events, and is great for just chilling in the shadow of the San Bernardino ranges. And talking of the San Bernardino ranges, you can always head out there to carve and hike in the resorts of Mount Baldy, Bear Mountain, or Snow Valley by winter, to hit the hot springs of Deep Creek, or relax on pretty Lake Arrowhead.
Hesperia offers year-round fun
Thanks to the proximity of the San Bernardino ski fields and the lowland heat of the Mojave Desert, there's really no bad time of year to book those Hesperia vacation rentals. You'll want to limit your trip to the months of December and January if you're after the best snow on the pistes, while there's plenty of hiking and mountain biking to be had in the high summer between May and August. That said, spring is perfect for wildlife lovers, and the fall can be both affordable and beautiful to boot.
Hesperia is mountains and creeks
Hesperia sits on the northward ridges of the San Bernardino Mountains, where the ponderosa pine forests and scrub-clad slopes finally give way to the rolling Mojave and its cacti blooms. The unique location means it's a city replete with awesome backcountry. You can go bear spotting around the forests of Arrowhead Lake. You can ski powdered pistes in Snow Valley. You can steam away tense muscles in the Deep Creek Hot Springs. And you can break out northwards, to where the rattlesnakes and coyotes of Death Valley lurk in the distance.
