Swim, boat, or kayak out on the lake. Grip the safety bar like your life depends on it at the amusement park, shop until your wallet aches, or try and bankroll the vacation with a game at the casino. White knuckles and blackjack hustles
You can't miss the big attraction round here. Sylvan Beach Amusement Park is the sort of joyous place you used to go when you were a kid. It features faster rides like a roller-coaster, and fierce contraptions that ramp up the G-force, plus teacups and other gentler options for the little ones. They even do after-hours ghost tours. If all this leaves the teacup-riders hungry for more excursions, you could take a trip out to Fort Rickey Zoo, while grown-ups might fancy chancing their luck at one of the area's casinos.

Sylvan Beach makes up part of the town of Vienna, and is set on the eastern shore of Oneida Lake. Covering around 80 square miles, Oneida is the largest lake in New York State, and more than 1,700 acres of the lakeside just near Sylvan Beach are given over to Verona Beach State Park. The hiking and skiing trails of these wetlands provide great opportunities for spotting birds, fish, and deer.
